Lol doubtful Ottawa will take on salary. Do we not know their owner?

TB will have to clear cap space, then offer Point + Segachev + Foote + 1st( if he re-signs)

Expect a Colorado/Duchene type return for Ottawa. I think that's what they will want as a return having gone through the Duchene trade already.
Point and sergachev plus anything is unrealistic Even I can admit. But if we are giving them karlsson. Plus possibly taking back a shit player / contract. I’m gonna expect something special

That would be a decent deal for both, really.

I'd be interested to see how Yzerman would make this work beyond next season with an extension in place. You've got Kucherov and Point becoming RFA's in two years. Just hard to see how this would work.

That's painful.

Really don't want to lose Serg AND Foote.

But if that's the price to get Karlsson and to keep Point... you do it.

You can trade players you sign.

wow if Dorian gets that, he exceeded my expectations BIGTIME... that would be a massive return

Okay let’s forget point. Is cal Foote available. I remember last time we all had this discussion Foote was seen as an absolute untouchable because he was a “redden-OEL hybrid” (I made up OEL but it was a redden something hybrid).

IMO, Foote's availability changed when we were allowed to talk extension with Karlsson. Assuming we have Karlsson in our long-term plans, Foote's on the table.

Will do, thought at least Callahan was a must keep. In any event, I am almost willing to bet Stevey Y will go 7/3 to hold on to Miller/Point/Cirelli/etc.

We'd protect Stamkos, Kucherov, Point, Palat

In 2 years Callahan is gone

If it's between losing Sergachev and losing Miller it's an easy decision to make. Seattle does get to cherry pick a nice contributor though. Johnson, Miller, Cirelli, etc. Nothing elite though

If Karlsson doesn't return that kind of offer, who does? He is a generational defenceman and a RD.

Again, if we’re trading all that we better be getting McDavid back, not a 28-year old gimpy impending UFA.

Just stop with this. You've made yourself clear for months that you don't want to trade for EK. That's fine and I do not expect the Sens are getting Point back in a trade even if Karlsson is extended, but the downplaying of a guy that had 31 points in his last 31 games of the season is just petty. He has a full offseason to train, something he didn't have last year and whoever lands him is getting a monster on D.
