Point or Sergachev won’t be going anywhere. Yzerman needs young guys like that on controller deals especially with the salary they’ll be paying their elite players. Other pieces will be moved.

It sounds like we gave in on Sergachev to put us over the top. We're still a much better team for the foreseeable future that way. Point would be a different story. We'd be a worse team due to our lack of depth down the middle. As great as Karlsson is, it's not like we don't have some pretty good defenders as-is.

Can't imagine Yzerman do the same mistake that he just saw the Stars do for not paying the price when they should. Heiskanen off the boards = no Karlsson. Sergachev off the boards = no Karlsson.

Definitely the key for Boston. Which is doable because they were the hottest team going into the playoffs from December on really.

I said the same thing this year. Losing the division on the last day f***ed the B's. Now the B's were never going to win the Cup (or likely make it) but having to have played both TOR and TB back to back was bad news.

It's part of the reason that I hate the new playoff format, for everybody. No matter what, playing division rivals in the playoffs is a crap shoot and anything can happen. Now your forced to do it and essentially the whole playoff structure is based around it.
