I'm inclined to believe he'll stick around until he retires if he's still able to play. He's already won 3 Cups... I doubt he's ring chasing at this point in his career.
Think he will just want to get the feeling of a RISING team again. He had that at Chicago, at 2007-10. Then after success the salaries exploded, they lost their other talent from the team, only stars were left. That same death spiral Wings had after 2009.
Those horrible years. Success creates a problem, You lose some of your prime years to early success. But you still have some hockey heart in you, and you want to feel that upswing again. Those best days of life.
Red Wings are the next upswing team. Sooner or later. That's why Kane will join.
