Confirmed with Link: Kane to Detroit

Kostin does neither. No PK or PP. He is also getting Czarnik-level lowest ES ice-time. That tells the hierarchy.

He is the obvious option if all are healthy.
Yeah, but he brings physicality, which seems to be lacking this year. Third last in hits per game. Sprong's ice time on the PP will maybe go down with Kane in the lineup, so it might not be as obvious as one might think.

Which way?
lol.

Detroit. I think we get off to a hot start like 4-0 midway through the second period. We coast and let one in at end of second period. Then Kane presents the experience and get's guys to calm down a bit and play the stingy defense he kept talking about in the interviews and we get two more in the 3rd.

Can you waive NMC players?

Yes, but you need ask for that, and player can deny.

"No Movement means the player cannot be waived, assigned to minors, or traded without approval."

I think if you are totally done with the player, you can ask to bury him down from the roster. That would free a roster spot, and would open 1.125M in cap space. Player does not have to do anything, just collect the full money.

AHA! okay I am back at it then lmao.

I mean we could waive him to GR. He doesn't report but that has been worked out. And when the playoffs come he shows up as a black ace or something to get the team ready for whatever matchup they are playing against and get's his name on the cup if we win.

At his age, that really feels like a win-win but I am heavily one-sided on this so maybe I got blinders on lol

He is not gonna want to be waived. If he is waived, he can end up anywhere, and I really doubt he would want that.

There is no way Petry is going to agree to be waived. It's not happening.

Yeah, nothing wrong on his debut.

Was on the ice for only one goal, when Sharks scored 4-1. That's was Larkin bad pass and Husso giving a weak goal. Nothing to do with Kane.

Kane was also top3 at xGF% (with Kostin and Fischer).

It was nice to see how good his stickhandling is and how high his IQ is. If he's not in pain, if he has lost a step, it doesn't look like he'll have any trouble playing in slow motion

I think he did lose a slight step or is just not at game speed still. But there were times where it looked like he was coasting, but if you really looked, then you'd see he was just reading the play and made a pass or shot deflection on defense. Reminded me of what datsyuk did a lot in his later years.

It is going to take some time, as a viewer and fan, to not cringe every time he takes some contact. I'm sure he feels good now, and hopefully that continues and improves, I just don't want him to start taking NHL contact and the repeated impact injures the hip joint.

I didn't really see any forceful contact in this game against him which was nice. There was I think one time where he was kind of between two sharks players along the boards but they didn't really hit him hard.

If he plays against Ottawa, we will really find out if his hip is good or not.

The league has enough respect for him, I don't think anyone is going to take a deliberate run at him at least until the playoffs.

At the same time, I doubt the divisional rivals pull any punches either. The league has basically banned hip checks, so that works in Kane's favor. And he's good at avoiding big checks.

Watching Kostin float on Sturm's second goal shows you advanced stats are pretty much meaningless. That 4th line can't be trusted to play against the other team's top 6. It's not a shutdown line like Helm/LGD.
