Prospect Info: K'Andre Miller (D) - Part IV

He made some expected rookie mistakes last game but he is so impressive. His physical skills are off the chart but he processes the game at a higher level than I expected.

By all accounts he is a good kid committed to improve.

I think the sky is the limit.

Makes me wonder WTF was going on at Wisconsin.

I said all season it was a Wisconsin issue. I also said the kid would flourish when he no longer had to worry about classes and could focus on being a pro. That's all he wanted, was to play hockey.

One of the things that makes him so good right now is that when he makes mistakes, his movement and his stick work are so good he can often recover. And his reach is phenomenal. Like you see him misread an angle and it looks like the guy is by him, but nope, he manges to pivot, take a huge stride, and reach ten feet back to easily poke it away. It's beautiful to watch.

Check out Panarin's play & Lafreniere's individual accomplishments in junior / tournaments, and it's pretty easy to predict the captain will be either Panarin of Lafreniere

I would bet money against Panarin being the captain. He's an affable guy, but he's going to need a better handle of the English language if he going to be the captain.

Much like i was wrong last year about Fox and the impact he'd have (thought he should've spent the whole year in the A), I'll freely admit i thought the exact same about Miller this season.

seems i should say the same stuff about Lundkvist next season
add Robertson as well

If the first goal puck report/pieces of the report are true, I sense more jealously that may or may not be fueled by racism. K'andre is a rookie outplaying him by every metric and playing more minutes with a better partner that COULD have been Tony's had not lost his temper. We know that TDA is a reactive and emotional guy, and they are going opposite directions right now (one is rising and one is falling).

Just a thought that I don't think has been discussed much. Not everyone has the mentality to be thrilled for their teammates successes, especially when it might be hurting/encroaching on their own ability to succeed as an individual.

if a guy who has what 8 games of pro experience stepped in and actually punched Tony D instead of just separating and breaking it up. He’ll be a hall of famer in my mind

Love that he broke up the fight but it’s also seriously problematic that a rookie 8 games into his career has to be the one breaking up fights between teammates.

Speaks to how atrocious the leadership on this team is really.

I think this has more to do with who was physically closest to Geo and ADA when incident occurred than a lack of leadership.

No doubt that was part of it I’m sure. Still think the entire problem stems from an overall lack of leadership.

Either way, Key has been a revelation this season and I hope all this nonsense doesn’t bring him down.
