I don't ask for much in life...but a picture of him on the ice would be greatly appreciated...
Based on what gallant is saying I'd expect to see kakko practicing this weekend. playing next week probably. If kakko can’t play by the last five games l, it would best to kill his season and let him heal completely.. offer him 2 mill for 3-4 yrs..due to his injuries
Did we ever get an actual diagnosis? Like is it ligament, is it a sprain, is it a broken bone?
I mean no player in the playoffs is 100%. If we're making a run how are his teammates going to look at him, as they're playing through sprains and dislocations and breaks, and he's just like oh im only 97% and the team shut me down?Shut him down if he isn’t 100%. My 2 cents
Probably not. He will be ready. If it were a lower body, maybe I'd be with you on it.If kakko can’t play by the last five games l, it would best to kill his season and let him heal completely.. offer him 2 mill for 3-4 yrs..due to his injuries
Gallant: "Body injury, nothing serious, day to day *smirk*"It's an upper body injury and that'll do
Still not at practice today. Sigh.
Rangers MO seems to be that they want injured guys to skate on their own until they are just about ready to enter the lineup. 1 practice with the team, then back in.He and Rooney were both skating before practice today.
I feel like 1 practice with the team isn't going to be enough. He's been out for more than 3 months. He's probably going to be wearing a non contact jersey for a practice first then a contact practice or two.Rangers MO seems to be that they want injured guys to skate on their own until they are just about ready to enter the lineup. 1 practice with the team, then back in.
Yes, otherwise it messes with the line rushes and combos the coaching staff is trying to decide on before the next game.Rangers MO seems to be that they want injured guys to skate on their own until they are just about ready to enter the lineup. 1 practice with the team, then back in.
Gallant has said he’s hopeful Kakko and Rooney will get to play before the first round of the playoffs begin in May, but that doesn’t mean it will happen.
“They might play one, who knows?” he said. “I’m not worried about that. They’ve skated hard, they’ve worked hard for a while. Not an issue. When they’re ready, they’re ready.”
I usually don't subject myself to reading comment sections (especially for the NY Post) but boy do some fans have no clue about the game of hockey and player assessment.Rangers’ Kaapo Kakko and Kevin Rooney’s return from IL remains unknown

Well that doesn't sound very good. Coach doesn't sound confident at all.
It doesn't. But could that also reads as Gallant 1. being super cagey and 2. getting tired of being asked about it. The way he said "they were out there, you just weren’t out there early enough" following practice kind of indicates the tone of his second quote.Rangers’ Kaapo Kakko and Kevin Rooney’s return from IL remains unknown

They should start him and Rooney on the 4th line (with Motte) when they are back and let them ease back in. The other three lines are working. Let them get back up to game speed with less minutes and a less offensively demanding role. That’s a very good line 4 which will come in handy during the playoffs too.He was taken out of the lineup on 1/22 - which is about 11 weeks ago.
He had an 8 game stretch back in late Nov where he went 3G, 5A, 8P, +6 and averaged over 20m TOI.
That's like adding a second Copp to the forward lines before the playoffs. Just need his ass back in the lineup.
If they need to take their time with him so be it, but with 11 games left its gotta be soon to get him back to a good level
Trying to stay positive.
