Here
I’ve been wanting to see Kakko get pissed off.

We saw it this game.

Something set him off in the first and he bulled Dougie Hamilton behind the net and I think he was surprised by his strength. Kakko is an absolute unit.

Then he just seemed to relish the physicality after that.

Let’s not forget one of the reasons (we think) Gallant sat him at the end of last years playoffs. He wasn’t finishing any checks and despite not playing badly he was pretty pedestrian in the physical dept.

Quite the opposite tonight. He earned that goal after a gritty performance on the walls. Saw him hunting around looking to get a piece of someone. Love seeing these kids grow. A part of his game I really wanted to see develop.

He could prove to be an unsung force this playoffs because he played with a lot of emotion with TPS and international play. When he adds that his confidence follows

He threw a beautiful big hit in the 2nd. Clean, separated the guy from the puck and just did his usual puck control after it.

Da Big Apple
have been bullish on KK like I've been on Kreider, tho to a lesser degree

he' demonstrated he has what it takes individually
has real magic w/Chytil
whether it is an improving LaF or other, being part of complete line w/full chemistry, continuing to grow, will only add to his upside

Kakko will be a brute in his prime. He's improved each season so far and the only thing he really lacks now is confidence - and that's coming on slowly but surely
