Decent game for Kakko, strong with the puck as always and few good drives to the net.

Haven't watched Rangers too much, will Strome be 2C or Chytil? Strome was awful. Kakko is in difficult position in 2 line, he cant drive his own line yet and linemates dont give too much support.

Strome for now but yeah really is an issue with 2C right now. Kreider is good but they need someone to help a bit and Strome is gonna struggle doing that.

e: Kakko had flashes. If he finished a chance or had someone finish something he created we'd be saying he had a pretty decent game. When he finds his stride he looks like he's gonna go off.

With Strome and #2pp I'm lowering my point expectations to around 40.

The offensive talent really goes down after the 1st wave.

These were the warm up jerseys last night, and it seems all members of the team signed them with their nicknames. If you look closely, Kakko signed with “Kappy”.

That’s his nickname from now on, I don’t make the rules. :)

Kappo taking number 24 is a power move. Fox with 23 as well. I really like it.

Why not put him on the 1st PP atleast, there's no risk there and he looked great there in pre season. I understand the coach wanting to spread the talent as far as him not being on the 1st line, atleast I hope that's what he's doing.

Easy, tiger.

You see that drop off in talent from line 1 to 2? Now picture it with Kakko on the first line.

Buch isn’t special. I don’t like him there. It is what it is though while Kravtsov simmers.
I don't really get how completely dimming Kakko is a good idea, especially while Buch simultaneously dims the 1st line. This is a theoretical, general consideration but if you look at it objectively, it doesn't apply in this case.

I just think he's money on the PP. He hasn't been very dominant elsewhere yet (pre season included), doesn't need to be on the 1st line but the PP could definitely use him.
For sure. But it's soooo early. It'll all work out. The coach is good with kids. And Kakko appears to be eminently coachable. It'll be lovely, I'd wager.

“Positive” would have sufficed. No need to be unpleasant. Frankly, you’re attempting to counter a normative statement with a positive one, which is irrelevant.
He's giving you attitude for (and if you know me you know I'm trying to be super nice about this based on what I'm about to say) being difficult and kinda lame

I can't figure out why you're doing it either except as an eff you to him bc maybe he said some stupid shit earlier.

Did you actually sit there and dissect the autographs lol
Nah, I came across the picture on Instagram, and “Kappy” was the first name I saw. I thought it was a nice tidbit haha. I’m not that obsessed ;)

How many 18 year olds get top anything duties? Frankly, I’m surprised he’s been glued to the second line and not lower

How many 18 year olds carry their country to a championship and be the most dangerous offensive player on the ice doing so. We are going to put Pavel Buchnevich over him? I get it's early and he needs to earn it but he is the far superior talent on the right side for the pp.

I agree he's our top talent and I think he'll be on the top PP unit soon, but I agree with not starting him out there.

Without taking anything away from his performance, KK didn't carry Finland to the WC -- he was spectacularly good in the first few matches, when he got his goals in, and an integral and highly important part of the team for the rest of the tournament.

Last year at TPS, by most accounts, he was good but tentative at the beginning, deferring to his linemates almost too much. He then became a beast as he warmed up and got his legs under him. In the playoffs he was an absolute monster against HPK, (but TPS managed to lose that series, so I don't want to talk about it).

I think it's a great idea to shelter KK a little, let him grow into the game. I believe he'll start dominating sooner rather than later, but we can't force it. It's as much to do with his personality as with smarts or ability.

Well maybe when he starts carrying things at the NHL level he can have a bigger role
