You can't bulk up without getting a little fat. The cutting comes after.
Well that depends if you're doing a clean bulk or dirty bulk.

It's the off-season, what do you expect? I have patience. I'm not writing him off, I'm expressing concern. See, you're doing the same thing: it's the off-season. I take a stand, I make a coin flip out of the future. I think Kakko will probably be underwhelming as a player. So what? I might be totally wrong (hopefully so), I still have a choice to give an opinion out of what I've seen. I don't dislike him as a person, I'm expressing concerns for his future career.Imagine jumping to conclusions based off of one poorly taken photo and ignoring all the more recent photos/videos that exist.
Jesus christ people.

No. No no no. It has obviously been his play during the last two seasons as well. Not just some stock photo of an off-season, but it surely adds up to it. So far he hasn't been impressive whatsoever. Nothing to write home about. He has barely survived his first two NHL seasons and he is NO ONE the opposition would mention to look out for in a scouting report. Sure, he has improved his ATROCIOUS defensive play (one of the absolute worst in the entire league). Yay! Sure, it was in a really tough situation on a flawed team. I have to give him that.you’re expressing concern over a poorly taken photo lmao.
A small gust of wind that blows under someone’s shirt and holy shit, it’s the end of the world! This is assuming that the photo wasn’t altered to begin with. I wouldn’t put it last edjovo to do some shit like that just to start shit lmao.
but more recent shit exists. Take a look at those and tell me that he still looks fat and out of shape.

Still... he has been a really shitty #2 pick. I would rather have Hughes playing for the Devils than him, to put it that way. To then have those pictures, where there is celebration he at least doesn't look like a couch potato... holy hell are the expectations low. Sure, it could be his genes. But if he looks like Vesey for another season, I mean, how much hope can you have in a player?
As I said, now is the time for Kakko to prove he was picked in the 1st round and wasn't undrafted from the Kalsarikännit Sports Club.
The future of the player in this thread? Too many words? Ok. Kakko: concern. Might be good, I think there is concern. I might be wrong, I will be happy if wrong. Understand? What the f*** are you even talking about lol.

TL;DR Kakko's future uncertain. Chimp worry future. Chimp happy if worries false.
Who said anything about Strongmen? Not if you want to become truly strong. Then you need a layer of fat. If you want to become a poser, you get lean. Ask the strongmen on this planet about that. None of them look like models. As for what Kakko has done, I don't know if he has gone for the strongman regime or the Kessel regime.
As for hockey players, I would not advice them to gain body fat. The gained strength - if included with body fat in such a regime - is not worth the loss in speed, acceleration, stamina and agility. Especially not as a forward. If you're a player that really needs bear strength, sure, maybe. Otherwise? No.
If Kakko wants to become a true power forward, maybe. Otherwise, no. A guy like Reaves or Byfuglien should look a bit fat from his physical training when the season starts, because they really needs to be strong as a bear for their style. Kakko, no.
I have no clue how he thought this was the way to go. I'm concerned.
There's enough fodder here to get us to opening day of training camp. Thank you, @EdJovanovski. Thank you. Thank you.Oh, right, this is why I tried to avoid HF as much as possible over the summer. I almost forgot.
