Adam Henrique just got his bro back in Jersey. Look for him to have a great season.

Jersey likely doesn't touch this.

Terrible for the both teams. Leafs dont need centers and the devils shouldnt be trading their only good center. Also, Henrique has more value.

I don't think this makes sense for either team. Value wise van Riemsdyk is the better player, but the Devils already have Taylor Hall :))) and Mike Cammalleri on the left wing and trading Henrique would leave a true black hole behind Zajac. Also, Toronto down the middle has Matthews, Kadri and Bozak.

Henrique is arguably better at LW. He's had good success there in the past and he's not great at faceoffs. This is the first year where he's had success at center IMO.

still doesn't make much sense for the Devils. We are already full at LW with Hall, Cammy, Boucher and likely Zacha long-term. Henrique will likely be at center long-term because of our LW depth. A swap like this just makes us weaker overall.

Value is similar for these two players, but it makes ZERO sense for either team. Henrique is really not needed at all on the Leafs - we already have a logjam at centre with Matthews, Nylander, Kadri, Bozak, Laich and Holland. JvR is a our top winger now, and even longer term probably a top 2 winger for us (along with Marner). He's a crucial piece, no way we trade him for a centre who could easily be below all of Matthews/Nyalnder/Kadri in the long run.

For the Devils, Henrique is a key centre, and JvR is less valuable since they already have an elite 1st line LW in Hall. They need centres more than wingers, so wouldn't want to make a move like this either.

No thanks. Makes very little sense for both sides. NJ can't afford to deal the guy and we really don't need him. Matthews,Nylander,Bozak,Kadri etc. The Leafs will be looking to move a center, not acquire one. If anything a Bozak to NJ makes more sense.

So we give up our big 25-30g/55-60pt winger to get a smaller 25-30g/45-50pt center that we don't need?

Matthews
Nylander
Kadri
Bozak

all set there. terrible proposal

What players and picks would they be adding to get Henrique?

LOL...and why would they be adding to get a career high 51 pt guy (4 years ago) when JVR has hit 56 and 61 since then?

If we are moving JVR, it better be for help on defense.

Absolutely.

But trading JVR leaves the Leafs with very little in the way of veteran top-line talent to anchor the team while the rookies grow. I do agree though, if he goes it's for a steady top four presence.

JVR is more valuable than Henrique, both in a vacuum and with the current Leaf positional needs.

We already have our own Henrique with Bozak.
