Juraj Slafkovsky - Year Two

Where would you prefer Slaf spend his 23-24 season?

No argument with the rest, I don't love the bolded argument. Especially since part of the debate from day 1 was that 1st OA picks (especially forwards) almost always play in the NHL right after being drafted.
Because usually, drafts have exceptionnals or close to it. When is the last time that a draft didn't have a clear No1 candidate? And not only that but pair it with the fact that nobody thought that even the No1 was as high a player as he usually is.....it's not an argument to use this No1 as most No1.

Hadn't thought about this angle, but you have a point. Slafkovsky seems like exactly the type to up his game when the stakes are higher. "Playoff Slafkovsky" - love it!
He made his marks in tournament settings. The Worlds, the Olympics. Guys wired this way tend to play well in the playoffs. Price comes to mind a tournament player.

I tried to be cool with that guy as he seemed friendly but.....he probably should make these proposals on the Leafs board lol
I do my homework too lol

The guy literally posts on some other thread " ehh knies will never be an impact player, he's a heavier Chad larose"

But then comes here with some kind of maple laff veiled asinine + admittedly drunk post that he 'loves' Slaf but that knies will end up better than Slaf.. who he is already behind in age and progression..

GTFO of here for real with this shit, like come on

Thanks Mods

Originally, I wanted Cooley or Wright. I was unhappy with the Slaf pick. If there was a redraft, there is not a single player that I would pick over Slaf. Glad I'm not a scout lol.
When the pick was made i was like ok where did that come from but i wasn't upset i liked his size now i'm like you i would not pick anyone else instead of Slaf and he's still just 19 he's going to be really good.

I hate our fanbase's need to go the mainboards whenever something good happens. Slaf is looking great. Let's just let it play out a bit longer.

lol do they really? I've never been to the main boards in 20 years lol. Like regular people on this forum or fringe posters we haven't really seen much? Is that the people over there from here?

Need vs want. I didn't need to go to the main boards......I wanted to. Oh wait....I was compelled to. So I guess that is need

You're free obviously to do as you wish. Our perspectives just differ.
Meh....I don't take this stuff too seriously. Sometimes I fan the flames, sometimes I don't. I have my takes, but rarely talk in definitives. A lot of people shit talk slaf with little to no viewings. That post was for them.

My unicorn statement was semi in jest. I do think he contains a unique skill/physical presence that could make him a true one of a kind force. But yes, in the long run, it's early to boldly declare that.

Happy to give some serious takes on any of our players anytime. Also happy to have a little fun and post a few funny gifs.

Am I less mature or refined? Sure. This is but one of my daily stress relief activities, so whatever. Internet persona if you will. Enjoy what life brings ya!

Sincerely,
Geoff Molson

You would do really well on the main boards I think. I'm damn close to being permabanned because I can't help but indulge the idiots there

I love how we're only supposed to get excited about him until he's like a PPG player.

Until then you have to be quiet because it's 'couple goals. big woop'.

We weren't allowed to get excited when he was looking good not producing.

Weren't allowed when he was starting to get assists.

Weren't allowed when he started scoring goals because they weren't beauty snipes.

Now we aren't allowed when they're nice goals because there's only been two of them. lol.

A poor man's Jagr would be Lovely
How about a hybrid between Jagr and Marian Hossa. I swear watching Slaf reminds me of my first love in Marian Hossa with Ottawa. If he could reach that level, and I'm confident he will emerge as a 80-90 two way power forward... habs are in business for the next 10 years with him... that's hall of fame status right there.

Fair enough. I don't take this site seriously either but just saying let's really wait and see what we have before we go and laugh and the people who called Slaf the worst 1st OV ever.

I love it. f*** main board and other fanbases. They can eat shit. I'm going to be more obnoxious than 2011 Vancouver fans if we ever have a good team.

Up in every thread after a 3 game winning streak like

Meanwhile we should ignore the fact that as a 19 year old he has earned his spot on the top line and PP1.
