It’s common to hear a player get praises for “doing the hard work” to get the goal. That’s all he was saying here. You’re interpreting what he said far too literally.

And if it had been any other player, you’d have had no problem with it.
Wording is important.

Stop with the hater non-sense, I dont hate Slaf and I never did.

So is reading between the lines. And again if it were another player you’d have been fine with it. Everyone knew what he was saying.

What I said was true. And you know it. I’ll stop with the hater “nonsense” when you do.

It’s fine to dislike a pick. Fine to think he’s overrated and criticize that player. That’s the way hockey opinions work. But you’re over the top with this guy constantly. You’re not called out by chance.

Another good game and another point. He's starting to really win board battles these days consistently, using his size and reach to hold onto the puck and make the pass. The progress is visible and encouraging and the points are starting to follow along.

I’d say he was our best player today. Great game, glad to see him taking some shots too. He looks way more confident. Hopefully he can keep it going. 4 points in his last five. Couldve easily had three or four points tonigh and screened the net in the opening goal.

Yeah, you have to be blind by now not to notice the many improvements to his game lately. His finish is lagging a little, but he could choke a horse with how tight he still holds his stick - he breaks them often on his clapper. Just a little more confidence, but we're getting there...

As others have mentioned, he should have 4-5 more points if the chances he created were converted to goals. It's too bad that Dach got injured because this thread would be very dead, the kid is starting to feel it.

I so wanted him to score that shootout
I stood to my feet, a glass of wine in hand, "c'mon kid, c'mon kid but oh well, he wasn't the only one not to score.

No, you just had an abundance of poor takes about the player, and now seem to feel the need to downplay positive posts pointing out his quite obvious (& predictable... To some) progression.

Much easier, and more fun, to just admit you were wrong and enjoy the ride ;)

Future is Bright 😎

(& he will have more bad games & more slumps this year & a few more years... No need to flip back to incessant criticism each time.)

It's EMBARRASSING to see Habs fans taking part in this poll and almost 60 percent of them STILL want him to be playing elsewhere than the NHL. Anyone who has not changed his negative vote has some 'splaining to do.

But in Laval he might be a ppg player and thus more likely to reach his full potential 😉

We know Slaf can pass. He showed it tonight. But the front of the other team’s net needs to be much messier and chaotic when he’s on the ice. Bumping up the shooting from « almost never » to « rarely » would be a step up. Even if he doesn’t score... Someone needs to remind him a rebound counts just as much as a picture perfect assist. Otherwise, I like the fact he’s putting points on the board.

What's embarrassing is thinking the majority of votes just happened in the last couple of days. A better barometer would be to ask the same question now

Just keeps getting better. Agree he could have more points, also like his big body in front of the net again today for a goal that might not happen if he isn't planted there. Also really like his d zone game, that is multiple games he has made a big play in his own end and up manned it for a goal.

Still moving the puck too fast, once the game slows down for him lookout.

4 points in his last 5 NHL games. It's almost like those of us who said the points would be coming actually were not idiots. I see him getting 25-30 this year if he plays the whole season (no, I don't think he'll maintain the 0.8 ppg pace, LOL).

Votes can be changed.

Changing votes is ridiculous and honest posters won't bother.
