Fans will say :

he played a good game, once he had a shift where he had the puck and skated with it. He also succeeded a pass to one of his teammate. Come on hatazzz he is developping.

Thats BS. Send his ass to the OHL. Pretty sure he wouldn’t be a PPG forward.

Bless the hearts of the fans who keep saying give it time, he is good, and he will be good, despite what the actuality of the situation and his actual play.

I wish I could see things like them and be optimistic despite no evidence for it.

They knew he was a project..........they stated they drafted him, because they felt he will become the best player in that draft.
People are struggling with this.............stay tuned.
Project at number #1? Yikes! Maybe outside top 10. Cooley was always the easy pick at 1. This is why I should be a scout and not those idiots we hire.

It's hard to stomach the fact that if we had 1OA a year later we'd have Bedard instead of Slafkovsky...hell I'd even vastly prefer 2 or 3 from the next year (Fantilli/Carlsson)

I really hope Slaf figures it out, he should have played all of last year (and maybe even some of this year, depending) in Laval IMHO.
I would have taken least 10+ players in last years draft over Slaf. And I think many on here would too.

Maybe they are just waiting for Dvorak to return and he'll plug into that line (Newhook-Dvorak-Anderson) and Slaf finally gets sent down.

Or maybe they just keep benching him every third period.

He’s a bad hockey player presently. Among the worst and most ineffective players on one of the weaker teams in the NHL.

He brings nothing of what a prized draft pick should bring. He demonstrates no special ability, no poise, no guile, no unique factor.

18/19 year olds have been named captain of their teams (eg Landeskog), Slafkovsky is outplayed and outworked by Tanner Pearson.

This pick has majorly derailed our rebuild and I’m tired of having to couch my words to protect the feelings of the Kent Hughes Can Do No Wrong crowd. Rookie GM burns the high draft pick he’s inherited and stubbornly mismanages him is a very familiar story — we should all know better.

Slafkovsky is significantly behind Galchenyuk too at the same age, that’s the sickest part of this. Of the topX picks we’ve had in the last twenty years he’s the worst one.

In my honest opinion i think Slaf is showcasing signs of someone who's not taking care of himself outside the rink.

I see a net decline in his cognitive abilities on the ice from last year.

Is he suffering from "partying too much" disorder? He does look like a bit lost sometimes
