I hear ya. Been here since Feb 2022...but stay away for very long periods of time over the last 10 years. Some obviously good posters withstanding, these boards have devolved a LOT. Many, many respected original members I know/knew have left and will never come back. Considering the trend, especially on the main boards, with all the powertrippers there and double-standards...I'll likely disappear again very soon.
Don't forget your ball!

They’ve always existed, everyone is unable to see their own generation with the same lens are newer ones - at least in general

Good point. The old board seemed more mature, but maybe I have selective memory,

Typo correction: I've been on this version of HFBoards since 2002, not 2022.
Well posters 20 years ago are almost definitely going to be about 20 years more mature than those currently on the forum (at least today, that is) hehe

What is certainly true is the prevalence of bots and guided comments sections on platforms such as online news sources, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube etc. has lead to polarization in mindset. Either for or against in visceral ways with no nuance.

Still here since 2001. I've moved around a lot: Japan, Germany, NC, VA. HF has long helped me alleviate homesickness, especially in Germany, when I was treated miserably... and miserable. Life in the US is a lot easier now. Meanwhile, I've gone soft about winter, over two decades.

Yep. Lots of real-life flaws in all this automation/AI etc. And even when it is human-led, too much favoritism and uneven application of the rules. It sullies the experience. At least for me it does.

I totally remember you from way back then. One of the smartest posters here, IMO. Glad to see you're around! I've seen you change your moniker pre-fix for every location, lol. Mine was originally, Habdul. :)

Thanks for the kind words. I'm a contrarian at heart and I apply my technical/biomed background on occasion, which I think could benefit the game if the higher-ups had the inclination.

Maybe some players could benefit from your expertise. Drouin for example...but that ship has sailed, I guess.
He needs a sports psychologist. Not my domain. Not my concern anymore either. He's not on any of my fantasy teams: I knew better. If playing with MacKinnon won't light a fire under him...

you are an OG!

I was also around back then too FWIW, I think my original account account creation date was 2003 or 2004 at the very latest, maybe 2002.

Can't remember what my original name was though, I do remember most of the originals.. Mike8, etc, etc...

EDIT: You know what... I actually remember you posting that avatar, those Traverse days were horrible....

I'll tell you guys something absolutely terrifying...

Sometimes I see Pearson (#70) and think: "Damn, Slaf is looking better.."

Then I realize it's not Slafkowsky, but it's Tanner f________ Pearson.
All the east coast turds are in bed yelling in their pillows on why we picked slaf over Cooley. We can talk about all the east coasters tonight !

He wouldn't be good in the AHL either. Mesar is better than Slaf, and he's playing in the OHL. Slaf should be playing in the OHL. He's not an NHL player. Not even close.
