He’s closer to a PPG over the past 20 games than he is to 0.5 PPG and he’s 19.

Yet another good post from an informed Toronto fan.
the last 20 games? odd sample size. nice cherry picking. look at career stats. not even 0.5 ppg lmao

Yeah, at 19 y.o. he's going to be everything you hope Knies becomes one day.
I'd sure hope so, one was a second round pick, one was a first overall pick lmfao.

Look at the career stats of a 19 year-old who has player 91 games, lol.

Probably wouldn't fetch a 2nd round pick in a trade amirite?

Asking people to look at the "career stats" of a developing player who has played less than 100 games is its own form of cherry picking. It's deliberately taking a non-representative large sample size to downplay the accomplishments of a quickly developing player.

Over the last 20 games, Slafkovsky has been playing fantastic. Both the eye test and the stat line confirm that. He was also playing very strongly before the last 20 games where he wasn't picking up points, but many fans, the coaches and team president said that the points will come with the way he has been playing. And guess what, they have.

If you watch him play and not the stat sheet, he impacts the ice like a top 6 forward and he has been producing like one as well. Yes, you will say, 1OA shouldn't just be a top 6 forward, but this is a 19 year old who was very raw and has been refining his skills week by week.

If you were truly a hockey fan, you would appreciate how Slafkovsky has been improving. But I suspect you don't watch the games despite your very strong opinion.

the guy still hasn't reached 30 points...

Yeah he's 19 but at some point we need more
But 9 pts in his last 11 games. Seems you will get to see a lot more.
He wasn.t my first choice but what do i know. He is starting to look like he deserved to go 1st OA. The rest of this season and next season should tell us a lot more on Slaf . As of now he's improving in leaps and bound.

We know that but he was politely trying to make you aware of how much he has improve since the start of the season.
9 pts in his last 11 games.
You do understand?

LOL.... Move on. Nothing to be proud about KK trade. We lost a third overall pick for pretty much nothing.
Some people deserved to be laughed at and shamed.

Can’t forget gems like these.

And I’m a lot more pissed at the management wasting 2/3 top 3 picks on duds in Kotkaniemi and Galchenyuk. First time in over 2 decades Montreal gets top 3 picks and they amounted to nothing. I really hope Slafvkosky turns into a stud.

It’s too bad most folks just want to pile on the habs because it’s been fun watching Slafkovsky’s development curve. He just keeps getting better. His ceiling is hard to determine

Hey now….

You’re all welcome.

Was that guy counting goals that Kotkaniemi scored in warmups? He has never scored 48 points in any 63 game stretch...

edit, I guess he did.

That guy in the tweet bought high I guess

As a Hab fan you should be completely desensitized to that at this point. I knew that 3OA pick was thrown into a fire even before KK was picked. We'd probably have a way better team if we traded all of our picks for mid players.

Oh how humbled Hab fans have become. From we win at least once a decade to boasting about how Habs would never have a bad team because their fans wouldn’t stand for it.

The bar has dropped so low that even a very average player by nhl standards let alone the first overall pick is being willed to stardom by far too many. The kid has never been a star outside of a few weeks. He isn’t that kind of player. But keep hoping. He is a nice complimentary player. Nothing more.

I'm no Habs fan but the way Slafkovsky has been playing last few months, this is such a sunk cost falacy post..

But at least those are moving up from worst #1 ever to "nice complimentary player".

Nothing to say here except turn on a hockey game before you speak. Like damn.

The post of someone who doesn't watch Slafkovsky.

This guy has more effort and drive than your whole first line combined.

My guy we all know your fandom , we also know you wouldn't put money on your team against an AHL habs lineup in a best of 7. Why you talking? You guys got to intentionally tank and rebuild but we can't? Embarassing take from somebody who should know their place in the food chain

I really don't have a dislike for the Habs, and primary points are used all the time to discuss player production. I like Slaf a lot as a player. He's on the path to becoming a dominant PWF.
100%. Once he actually matures and gets his ‘man strength’ he’s going to be a passion monster. I see a player go will be exceptionally hard to contain between his strength, reach and hands
