That would certainly be a step in the right direction, but that statistic would definitely have it's flaws because Corsi measures your team's possession while you're on the ice, not how many times you individually have the puck. What would be really cool is if we had data for every time a player touched a puck and then things like how that possession ended (e.g; shot, pass, turnover) and how long the possession was.
But even that would require context into each play. If Ho-Sang carried the puck all the way up the ice made two moves and passed it back door only for his teammate to whiff and lose the puck I wouldn't be mad. If he held the puck for the same amount of time and missed 2 wide open guys because he was busy deking d-men I would be upset. Both plays would be registered the same but have such different interpretations.
