I still think the best solution may be to spread the wealth across three lines, prior to the Formenton situation and Norris getting hurt, I thought the same thing with last year's group, and with the addition of Kubalik and Greig, I think that strategy is potentially even more beneficial this year,

I posted this in another thread, but slot in Greig, Kubalik and Pinto in whatever arrangement you want and I personally think any of these duo's is likely to form at least an average quality top 6 caliber line

xxx-Stu-Giroux
Tkachuk-Norris-xxx
Tank-xxx -Batherson

Alternatively, any of these duos work too

Tkachuk-Stu-xxx
xxx-Stu-Tank
xxx-Norris-Giroux
xxx-Norris-Batherson
Tank-xxx-Giroux
xxx-Stu-Batherson

Will DJ and his assistants be able to figure out what combos work? That's the biggest question mark. Because there's a lot of talent there, it's just figuring out what works as quickly as possible.

we’ll have 8+ players who can crack 40+ points with two outliers in Stutzle and Tkachuk

75+
Stutzle
Tkachuk

60+
Giroux
Tarasenko
Batherson
Norris

40+
Kubalik
Chabot
Chychrun
Pinto

Barring a complete collapse in goal those point totals, as conservative as they are, will be enough to make Playoffs.

I hope we load up the top 2 lines myself.

I think we can have 2 lines capable of lighting up anyone, a 3rd that can hold it's own and a 4th that shouldn't hurt us.

I want old school then mix in the rest.

Brady Norris Batherson
G Stu Tank
Kubalik Pinto Joseph
Whoever Kastelic whoever

There will apparently be loads of options for the 4th line W so that seems very fluid at the moment which I why I leave them open.

I also leave out Greig for now, although I think he could easily make the team.

Come on now.

Wouldn't you consider it a major disappointment if Stuetzle posted 75? If Tkachuk is healthy I'd consider him a disappointment at 75.

I'm thinking more
90+ Stuetzle
80+ Tkachuk
65+ Giroux, Batherson, Norris, Tarasenko
50+ kubalik
45+ pinto

And with all that offence, whichever D is playing PP1 should post 50+

I’m talking bare minimum here though. obviously I want them to score more but, as mentioned, it’s a very conservative prediction.

Just showing the fact that even with the bare minimum, it should be enough to make the playoffs. Assuming we get decent to average goaltending

hopefully he is healthy because the structure he brings to the team is invaluable. and if we are to be one of the best teams in the league a lot rides on his shoulders.

Norris may be our 2nd most valuable forward. he is the best defensive forward on the team and without him last year it was like they were running around like headless chickens.

Norris tweaks his shoulder again!
So he was 100% a month ago or whatever playing golf saying it wasn’t an issue and now it’s messed up again.
Sorry but a minor tweak or setback is bs at this stage right before go time.
Somebody who knows shoulders help the guy out man.

I have a feeling that Norris is going to be fine. It wasn't like the feeling of dread I had last season.

I mean, I assume the latest "tweak" was in the context of a non-competitive (at least professionally) non-contact situation.

How it will stand up to 82 games of pummeling and draws is still very much concerning to me.

I hurt my shoulder pretty bad slamming it on the ocean floor in a bodysurfing situation and the doctor told me that I was very lucky not to have broken or dislocated it. I had a massive bruise from a large amount of internal bleeding that drained all the way down my chest.

He said I missed much more serious damage by a matter of a couple of centimeters.

"So, I'll be ok?"

"Oh, no, no. You'll run into issues when you're older. There's some scarring there and pretty much everyone injures their shoulder at some point because it's the most complex and therefore most vulnerable joint in the human body."

The idea that Josh Norris ever gets back to 0 on the injury prone front is a pipe dream.

To start with, I am not sure I agree with your doctor. The ankle is easily is the most complex joint in the body and also the most injury prone. After that its the knee. Shoulders are a ball and socket. In fact the spine is probably the most complex in terms of joints and possible injury points. With any injury, you're going to feel it later, as you age. I've had multiple surgeries, related to various issues. I broke my femur in 2011 I know full well about healing, just to get back to enjoying sports recreationally. It took me years after the original injury and then having to get the screws removed. Now, this summer I sprained my ankle on the same leg, and it's f***ing annoying I tell you. I also don't have access to the doctors and physio that Josh Norris does. But did we see Shane Pinto get re-injured last season? How about other shoulder related problems in other players. Didn't Stamkos have shoulder problems and require surgery? I haven't seen him having a lot of injury troubles lately.

a month ago he said his goal was to be 100% for preseason games, and that he had no doubt he would be ready for opening night, or something to that effect. Seems like he's mostly still on track and they are just being extra cautious, idk.

My feeling of dread was when we signdd him to an 8 year deal when we knew he had a bad shoulder.

Such a risky move...
even crazier is that his shot and thus his shoulders are what got him that 8 mill 8 year deal.

Norris without that shot is like a 4-5 mill player prob.

I suppose it depends on how you define complex. However, the shoulder is widely considered to be one of the if not the most complex joint in the human body. It is a hanging joint, which is unique. It has more ligaments and tendons involved than other joint. It connects the entire upper limb to the skeleton via the actomio-clavicular joint. Everything else in the joint is supported by muscles and tendons. It also has the most range of motion.

So, probably the most complex joint by most definitions.

A shoulder moves (when healthy) in many different directions though, so it is complex from that perspective. I'm not trying to get into a big debate, just adding a little perspective.
