You guys gotta remember his shoulder injury was specific to the movement of taking a faceoff. That's why he is back but not taking faceoffs. Duh. He isn't going to reinjure it another way(or at least this is highly unlikely).

What specific part of his shoulder was injured?

Taking a faceoff is kind of like stabbing a spear down into the ground in front of you. I feel like the draw that hurt Norris was especially stabby and not very fluid on the pullback. So yeah you can imagine what that might be activating which in my mind is sort of a unique system.

So was it the draw bone or the faceoff cuff? The people need answers here...
None of these are scientific terms. You're embarrassing yourself. Obviously wasn't a bone. Jesus.

I mean obviously I can tell you are joking around here but you proved my point in that nobody truly knows the part of his shoulder that was specifically injured until we hear a credible report

Lol

I thought it was clever. I can’t tell if you are joking though.

The shoulder (glenohumeral is a complex suspended joint. Face offs can put an unnatural torque on the shoulder, which might not be anticipated (reduces ability to brace correctly). I can see why a player is cleared to play with a precaution of not taking face offs until some rehabilitation milestone is met. We don’t know what the specific injury was, presumably something to do with the rotator cuff (which is four muscular tendons that essentially are what holds the humeral head in place within the shoulder). It’s a guess though.

Like many, I’m still a bit nervous watching him play, I hope the non-surgical option was well-advised, without increased risk of subsequent injury.

Yeah but he wasn’t grimacing after getting knocked he was just readjusting his shoulder pad don’t believe lies on social media or things you see with your own eyes

It's worse than that, Josh and DJ themselves said that he was feeling ok and there was no issue after the game.

So I guess they just didn't know he had reinjured it?

@Senators

#Sens GM Pierre Dorion announced this morning that forward Josh Norris will undergo shoulder surgery on a soon to be determined date and that his 2022-23 season has come to an end.
