He’s throwing his weight around nice. If he buried that rush where Fleury robbed him we’d be talking about how great he was lol

Just watched The Hockey Guy's review of the game, he thought Anderson had a good game.
It was his best game since game 1.

But he's paid $5.5 for 7 years. He needs to have more than a good game ever 10 games. And he needs to score more than 4 or 5 points in 32 games.

We need Anderson to get out of his funk............quickly. Got to be around the net more, he needs a garbage style goal and we should be good to go....throwing hits is great, love the overall game, but he has to bury a few chances...

Flip him with Corey Perry. KK and Perry would probably work pretty well.
might be as simple as flipping Armia and Anderson, Armia works well with KK and it would actually give some speed to the Vet line and Byron provides that on the 3rd line...just a thought.

I want to see Perry with KK and Anderson. The problem with the Byron-KK-Anderson line is there is so little playmaking. Perry would fit great as he can do the dirty work in front of the net and make passes in tight.

If it's possible for a player to skate too fast I think Anderson is a good example of that. He treats each shift like a short track speed skater taking some laps, throws in some hits and a hard aimless shot every now and then. Dude needs to think the game through a bit more and maybe slow down and stop in front of the net and use his size to wreak some havoc that way and pot one. Maybe put him with Staal and Perry and put Armia with Kotka as they've had chemistry in the past?

Anyway, Anderson is a good piece to have an fills a need for our team, just wish he brought more actual production.

He's a 6'3 Paul Byron during those playoffs. Skates fast and that's it.

Pretty much. He has a few good hits but in terms of winning puck battles with his frame, I see him as a gentile giant and no different than Armia along the walls.

Pay attention to when the puck is in his feet, he gets razzled and is ineffective in terms of what you would expect for a guy his size. He needs to learn how to use his frame when he is not at full speed and is in puck battle situations. At full speed, he is tough to contain with his edge work but when he is slowed down, it's a different story.

I think Anderson needs specific type of linemates to bring out the best of his game. Right now the fit is awkward. But the other lines are pretty set. Tough to juggle when they've had success.
Not a slight on any individual player. JA doesn't make linemates better. Not a knock. If he did he would got a few mil more than 5.5.
And I truly believe he was playing dinged up for for 2 rds which also limited his effectiveness.
He is fine right now at 5.5 just need to sort out the lines. Which may be tough immediately as the team just won 7 straight, next trailing.
It'll work itself out IMO.

He seems to have no chemistry with KK. I think he played better when he was with Staal and Perry.

We need him.

Let's not take him for granted too much..
We don't. 5 points in 33 games now to go with 4 points in his last 23 playoff games and a -10.

But he played solid enough tonight. If he plays this way for the rest of the series, he'll be tolerable. Still a really mediocre hockey player overall though for his salary.
