But it doesn’t provide fuel for other teams to use when bidding for a player, as the Orville Redenbacher fury this past draft did….

Feels like we are opening a whole other can of worms with players using montreal as a pawn.

Not sure how events like this one are supposed to prevent that from happening.

Maybe Drouin can have as many points as Anderson but he doesn't have fans support because his efforts
Drouin could have worked for Canada Post, they way he mailed it in, night after night, especially with his talent.
The Power horse is back, and helping the habs!! Great to see..........

With these 3 goals his value must have skyrocketed recently to at least a 6th.
i mean, if he can at least be a 20 goal scorer for us, then living with his contract isn't so problematic.

Hopefully he can put that slump behind him and return to at least mediocre off production with the PP/TOI he gets with us.

Ya but I’ve just wanted to trade him for 2 years while he still had value. I don’t see him as a valuable asset by the time we are ready to contend

hopefully, with the cap rising big this year (and with luck, rising at least a bit more in the subsequent 2 offseasons), by the time we are in our contending window, Anderson's cap hit will be similar to Armia's this year... expensive for a 4th liner, but not crippling. To Anderson's credit, he seems to be the type who will continue competing hard even if he's unproductive. That's what Rene Bourque didn't do, he seemed to become disinterested and completely useless once he lost a step and couldn't create offense.

The effort has never been his problem. It's that his hockey sense is ECHL level. You put that on your 4th line every night and you're asking for top lines to score even more ...

Anderson forces the defensemen play with his speed and strenght. They know what he's doing but he's hard to stop. You need guys like that in your lineup to win in playoffs where the other team has time to adapt to your fency plays. He's more than a 4th liner on most rosters.

It isn't ECHL level but I would agree that it is an obvious weakness and can be exposed when playing with better linemates. His hands are also below average.

He is still a valuable player and someone who every NHL team would love to have on their playoff roster.

Just like last year: first of two yearly hot streaks. When this one peters out, look out for the next one around March-April.

Agreed. He's 100% an NHLers and 100% not unworthy of a top9 role (ie he isn't a single-digit minutes players). He doesn't belong on the Habs roster though. For his own sake and for ours, he should be on a playoff team and we should cash-in on him.

For about 1/3 of the contract, sure.

he's exactly what the team needs, could use 3 more like him. I find it funny people mock his goal totals, yet even with his horrendous slump he's only 3 goals away from being our third highest goals scorer lol. Our wonderboy Cole has 11 pathetic goals , I mean c'mon folks.. this system blows when Cole is sitting at 11, spread some of the blame to the lack of depth and coaching staff and look around the team. We suck , therefore all the playes are going to suck.

A lot of Hab fans don't like Anderson.

I think Hughes refuses to trade him because Montreal real small in spots. With much coming in Mesar, Hutson, Farrell
