Hes minimizing his own actions with the whataboutism. Its like two kids fighting and then one of them saying "He started it!".

Not super mature

Meh, he's putting the spotlight on a different action, that recieved less punishment and resulted in greater injury.

I don't have a problem with it. It's not like he came out and said "I shouldn't have been suspended".

Agree to disagree I guess

In this instance.. sure.

Pretty sure the rate of severe injuries is much greater on boarding calls than roughings.

Marc Dumont, just released an article saying that Habs should look into trading Anderson cause he doesn't fit with MSL's style of play, which I agree with.

His strengths are purely in rush situations, where as MSL prefers a puck possession game. Could be a good opportunity to elevate his numbers if he sticks to Monahan and then trading both for 1st rounders at the trade deadline.

Dumont is a putz, I see he hasn't called out Drouin yet. Anderson is a great addition to this team, he's young and you know.. puts up 17-19 a year unlike the other dead weight on this team. People aren't calling out Slaf for the same hit, the way they are calling out Anderson lol.

AP changed direction same as Luff, you don’t face the boards in non-contact beer league but they think they’re protected if they do it in the pros. No problem with either hit and would say the same if Habs were on the receiving end.

This will be his good game, he will be on fire tonight and then go back to being Josh the lug nut for three or four after this one. 2 goals tonight.

Both hits were indisputably penalties and both Josh and Juraj finished a check where they had time to reconsider their respective actions. Anderson's hit was definitely more dangerous than Slaf's and was nearly another Lemieux/Draper situation. I don't believe that there was any intent to injure on either hit but they were both dangerous and suspension worthy.....as was Rossi's hit on Juraj.

I agree that players need to avoid turning their back in these situations but both Juraj and Josh had time to abort/reconsider and they chose to make a dangerous hit which I believe that they are both remorseful for doing so but were aptly punished for.

Reading the article there are some jumps in logic that aren't really supported. So talk about him not being a fit for MSL is quite a bit of a leap.

In my mind there's no rush to trade Anderson but if the right deal is there then sure by all means trade him. I kind of wonder if Anderson and Calgary's 1st for PLD might make sense for the Jets. That said in terms of keeping him, I would really like to see him opposite Slafkovsky, Slaf could definitely learn a few things from Anderson much like Pacioretty learnt from Cole. And I think for Anderson not being the only big guy would really help him.

Slaf was whaled on in almost the same hit, and all the 'hockey analysts' here and on TV said Slaf needs to learn how to take a hit. Slav learns that it must be ok to hit someone near the boards, as it happened to him. Everyone freaks out.

The writer seemed to be looking for confirmation bias. I think Josh has looked much better this season as he has incorporated some of Nicholas' work and is much improved on the wall as well as adding the quick stop where he toes the puck from backhand to forehand to create new passing lanes/attack options by creating extra space. He is finding some back door plays/trailers that he never would have recognized in the past as well.

This was just another dork who doesn't have the hockey acumen to break down a game visually so he defers to a small sample size of stats to embolden his bias.......gross.

Anderson clearly has more room to improve but for this clown neglect his progress and to propagate a flawed narrative is just so incredibly annoying.

Honestly Anderson is the only veteran who doesn't bother me on this team. Once we get rid of Drouin, Dadonov, Armia, Gallagher (keep dreaming) and some other contracts we have, maybe then he will bother me more....

Nice that he got his 7th goal but still think he is overpaid. 9 points this season for $5.5M for another 3 seasons after this one...I really was hoping for more from him...at least 50 points a season on top of his speed etc.

He's always "on pace" but he never reaches it. It would be nice for him to actually do it.

Consistency is his biggest issue.
17-18: 19G / 63GP
18-19: 27G / 82GP
20-21: 17G / 52GP
21-22: 19G / 69GP

That’s pretty “consistent”, for someone who actually has crash & bang to his game - which inevitably results in getting injured.

Many of you are expecting an $8M player output for his $5.5M AAV - which BTW is $4.8M - $5M AAV in a low tax / geographically desired NHL locale

7 goals in 24 games. On pace for 25.
That's one hell of a round up because he's not even on pace for 24 over 80 games. And since he's already missed a couple, he's on pace for closer to 23.

He also has 2 assists in 24 games. On pace for under 31 points.... which would be his lowest production as a Hab.

His points per 60 minutes (about 4 games worth ice-time) is 0.375. Compare that against let's say, Slafkovsky's per 60 minutes (about 6 games worth of ice-time) which is at 0.381.
