Why are people crapping on Anderson again? Didn't he just score 19 goals playing on the worst team in the league? Geez.
I don't get what people want from him. He's been very good since joining the team. He brings size, speed and can finish. He scored 27 a few seasons ago, and I wouldn't be surprised if he put up similar numbers with Montreal over a full year.

This far he's produced at a 24g 38pt / 82 game pace...

He's below average defensively, and while he does add a physical element, his physical fragility & style of game are such that he's not a player that intimidates opposing teams/D.

Thats mediocre ROI for the deal he signed.

27g+ was the hope 2yrs ago, thus far he's been below that.

Hopefully he stays healthy and finds a way to be more productive, but so far he's been a dud.

St-Louis has been good for Caufield, Ducharme was good for Anderson. Whatever what material he could bring up next year, he could play on the 2nd line with Wright and if he cant help our future, he good enough to be ab effective 3rd line powerforward. I like his wild card material and I surely keep him with us.

While he could yield a good return, I'm warming up to the idea of keeping Anderson the whole way.

He seems like a good teammate and fits in nicely with Suzuki and Caufield, plus he and Slafkovsky give us two monsters in the Top 6.

I think his presence is valuable to take some pressure off Slafkovsky.

I really like Josh Anderson but damn he needs to find consistency in a bad way.
He needs to be visible every game.
He won’t lol, at 28 years old, this is what you see is what you get. Same with drouin, some people are still expecting a top line forward. Hell no. Anderson remains a too 9 player with physicallity, able to make 25 goals

MSL seems to want to work with him. And Anderson seems like someone who wants to keep working at his game.

One thing MSL said he wants to work with Amderson on, which I think is to improve his hockey sense, is to not rush plays, but rather take a moment to observe his surroundings.

That and his work on the boards needs to be improved. A guy his size should be able to be a beast on the wall and the cycle, with work and practice.

I can live with 25 goals for sure but there are games where he is dominant and other games he is completely invisible.

D need to hit him with more passes exiting the zone for him to use his super power.

If the habs can play more « upstream » we’ll love our powerhorses; centers can hang back a bit, have more « juice » and make plays. He should be fast af; he didn’t look fat 6lbs heavier!

Marchand put 85 points at 28 years old.
Kreider score 52 goals at 30 years old.

He's certainly capable if he can reduce the length of his cold spells.

Thats really the key. Is he capable to bring more consistency to his game? He looks really good when he's on his game but he just doesn't show it as much as you would like.

Even under msl, you could see the volatility to Anderson's game. He was on the top line for a while, and even msl eventually decided to put him on another line when he hit another long patch of nothingness.

He will probably always have that volatility, but I just hope he can find a little more consistency amongst those highs and lows.

I think his inconsistency comes from a lack of hockey IQ, not a lack of effort, unfortunately. Can he still improve his hockey IQ. I would be willing to bet MSL will be trying to help him and JA will be trying. He seems to have a good work ethic.

I disagree. His game is north-south, full speed, and banging bodies, so its not inherently a high iq game.

When his legs are moving and, he's physically implicated, he looks good. Then he will go on long stretches where he just doesn't play that way for whatever reason.

Some games, he is driven... Other nights, he's simply not.

This guy need more love. He is the perfect player to keep for young players.

He is a great leader, great speed, great physical ability, great shooter and become better playmaker with times.

Some people hate his contract... but I see nothing wrong with that contract.

He's the worst.

4 points, -11 in his last 22 playoff games. :biglaugh:

I'll feel better once we've moved his big contract. Though I think he can be useful to another team in the right role.

I hope he can improve his playmaking, work along the wall and defensive game.

By all accounts he's got a great work ethic and willingness to learn. He didn't get to the NHL on talent right out of junior. He had to work at his game to develop the aspects he excels at now. Hopefully he can improve in other areas that are not well developed.

I think there definitely would be a market for a guy like Anderson. As inconsistent as he is, I'm sure teams looking to add a physical power dimension in preparation of the playoffs would look at him very seriously.

If you get him hot at the right time, he can be a massive X factor in a playoff run, because he is a rare breed.

The tough part is the salary, but with rumblings that the cap is due for a massive increase as early as the following season, he becomes even more movable down the road.

He’s one of our only wingers that we can trade that has a decent size cap hit. He’s a one dimensional player and the most predictable player on the team. Drive the net and see what happens. Sure that’s a great trait to have but when you consider his poor defensive play along with the fact that he makes Gallagher look like Adam Oats passing wise is scary af. Sure he seems like a great teammate but so was Scott Gomez

Same opinion; and I wish Armia would try to mimic Anderson.

He can help in the playoffs. Contenders are always looking for such players. Having said that, they usually don't have much cap space and so are looking for low players with moderate csp hits. We may have to take back some s b.c lary, but hopefully would also get a good pick or prospect.

The fact you mock Gomez and Gallagher, shows you know nothing about hockey except what you've read online. Both were astounding hockey players in their prime, which they demonstrated to different degrees as members of the Montreal Canadiens.

Gallagher is not comparable to Gomez and neither were “astounding” even in their dreams. Criticizing other fans for not worshiping the ground out mediocre and under-talented players walked on is pathetic.

Other teams have legitimate stars, and you say we should be astounded Scott Gomez once honoured us by wearing the bleu blanc rouge. Gimme a break.

That person didn’t mock either Gallagher or Gomez either, there was no need to jump down their throat over such an innocuous comparison. It is absolutely true that Anderson is a weaker passer than even Gallagher who is not known for his passing.

He’s so great, that’s why he gets so many points and helps his teams win so many games. Simple as.

I've argued with you enough to know that you sincerely hold your position so I get why you think the words I use are wrong. Both were during their prime top 50 players IMO but you're right, I take myself and my opinion way too seriously sometimes.
