I don't now what the word is on Sammy's status but I'm OK with Woll in for game 4. Let's see what a Hail Mary does for us. Oddly liberating being down 3-0, I will watch game four without all this ridiculous tension - what ever will be will be.

Sammy's been an issue this series, especially the first 2 games

Woll just wasn't ready for that. He made a few good saves and got better as the game went on but didn't look particularly good on any of the goals.

Hopefully knowing from the beginning he is starting he can come in fresh to play.

He came into the worst situation possible, literally at the beginning of a penalty kill after Sammy gets injured, and you can't really blame him on the goals. Why is the team giving a guy a breakaway on a f***ing PK? Second goal McCabe skates right in front of him and screens him as the shot is in mid air and Matthews also doesn't block it or at least get out of the way.

The wraparound he could've maybe read better, but the team iced the puck and couldn't clear their zone what, 4 times in a row?

They did nothing to help this kid and even then he still made some ten bell saves.

Not much Woll could do vs Duclair on a breakaway not even 2 minutes into the game, and the second goal was a fluke deflection.

I don't think there's a better goalie on the market (even if there was he won't be affordable) and Samsonov clearly has some potential. See if he can improve his consistency over another year.

He's also the perfect guy to platoon with Woll. Gives us some insurance if Woll doesn't pan out and shouldn't cost too much unless he gets back in this series and drags us to the 3rd round. I agree we should be looking to see if Woll can be our starter moving forward.

Regardless of how the game or series goes, I do really like this guy. His maturity and composure is impressive, and he's a battler. His career almost went off the rails from injury and he managed to not only come back from that but also reach another level with his play too. Will be rooting hard for him as it would be a nice story for us to develop our own goalie for once.
