Are you not following along? The Hawks gladly eat 50% for a 5th or 6th rd pick in return.
The cap hit though doesn’t hurt them so THEY WILL NOT PAY AN ASSET TO MOVE IT.

Aside from his contract, I can't imagine that there are many GMs dying to add Toews to their lineup. 7 goals and 24 points in 51 games, that is a typical stat line of a #3C. He has one more year left on his contract, but I think he should consider retiring after that. He'll be 35 at that point, with his best days far in the rearview mirror.
