Seems like Canuck fans on HF Boards have been blessed to follow some prolific scoring prospects in the SHL going back a number of seasons now. Starting with Petey; then Linus Karlsson, and now possibly Lekkerimaki.

Let the Tri Kronor good times roll!

Is it just me, or does Lekkerimaki look a lot stockier in those YouTube highlights? We tend forget that he was one of the younger guys in his draft class, who basically just turned 18 and just missed the cutoff to be in 2023 draft.

So he figures to be a lot different player by the time he's 21. Assuming he'll make his debut in Abbotsford, possibly even late this season, if his team is eliminated in the SHL playoffs?

I saw some pics of him recently , and he looks wiry strong (like the Sedins), not razor thin like Pettersson was.

If he really breaks out this season, I the he's got a good shot on the NHL Canucks in 24-25.

Canucks and Swedes - name a more iconic duo.

Cautiously optimistic with Lekkerimaki's recent improvement in play in the last few months. Hopefully he keeps trending in the right direction, has a solid year in the SHL and has a monster WJC.

Great to see the kid getting things back on track after having brutal luck all of last season. With that stellar release, here's hoping we have another Markus Naslund in the making. Either way I'm happy with his development thus far this season.
