Jonathan Huberdeau

The team that will draft Couturier around 5-6-7 will make it out like bandit. Holy moly he is now underrated and completely downgraded by an average WJC.

It's hilarious to read these guys go back and forth about guys who are a tier below the top forwards (Couturier, Landeskog and Strome). I would love to be picking 4th or 5th or even 10th if these guys were calling the shots for NHL teams. They would have Huberdeau, RNH and Larsson off the board top three, and the three best players in the Draft would still be there at #4.

The fact that somebody actually mentioned Huberdeau could go #1 just makes me realize, as an Oilers fan, how indistinct the #1 pick is. It's not even going to feel like an actual #1 pick because none of these top ranked players are actually THAT amazing...

Maybe it's only because I was spoiled with Taylor Hall last year.

What it's made me realize is that a lot of people who've barely seen any of these prospects play think they're pro scouts.

It's getting kind of ridiculous.

I agree with you. Couturier is probably the most complete player in the draft and one of the most NHL ready. In all the draft, I have a feeling that he's the most perfect fit for Edmonton. But, seems like the Oilers fan base are sold on RNH. You know that you're getting a safe pick with SC and with RNH, you'll have to wait for him to develop and mature. He's a flashy dangler, but Edmonton first line will then be a really really talented and fast line, but with no size. All in all, the team that picks SC lower than 3rd overall will be really lucky to have him.

From what I can tell, everyone here has thousands of dollars of spending money. I mean that's how they manage to watch every player play simultaneously. Must require several TVs and internet connections too.

Well some of us do have the money and time to buy the streams for all of the CHL. I generally watch all of Brandon's games live usually and watch select games from the WHL,OHL and Q when it features players I am interested in. I have watched probably 100 Junior games so far this year. Yes my job allows me to watch games while at work

I need one of those :yo:  That said no doubt that some have more of an opportunity or more means to do these things than others, it's just a matter of finding out who does and if they seem to know their stuff, and you are one of the guys that IMO knows their stuff. Now about that job....... :help: ;)

I invited a couple of real NHL scouts to participate here and publicly post their low-down on all the top prospects, but they all declined.

So, in their place... :yo:

Seriously though, if nobody was allowed to comment unless they had seen every top prospect play multiple times, then we wouldn't have much to talk about here, would we? :shakehead

Not an informed opinion.

I was at games three and four of the Oil Kings series. He didnt "dominate" at all. Yes he scored points, but was not a huge factor in the game and certainly not dominant. Red Deer was top ten ranked CHL team all year. Darcy Keumper was WHL player of the year I believe. The Rebels were much more than just "Hopkins".

I noticed this too.

Adam Larsson is my guy.

No draft-eligible player ranked by the CSS got points on a larger percentage of his team's goals than RNH did (39.55%). Closest were Strome (38.83%) and Couturier (38.25%).

I'm no RNH guy (total understatement there), but he definitely put Red Deer on his back and carried them to where they got. Red Deer was just Hopkins and Kuemper.

Was pretty invisible tonight, but this wasn't an important game for the Sea Dogs.
It looked like he and the rest of the team were mostly trying to not get injured. Can't say I blame them -- the game had zero meaning to them.

Although, he didn't assert himself and I thought he didn't shoot enough, until the winner, Huberdeau did make 3 or 4 incredible passes. The kid puts the puck tape to tape, no matter where he is on the ice. He's a great young talent
