You know, I could see that, I don't know about that, but I could see that, I still don't feel or see the Oilers taking RNH, still see Larsson, who knows, I did a mock draft of my own I might post on this thread.
I have this feeling this kid will be the best player to come out of this draft.
Skill, clutch, grit, and them more skills on top of that.
Watching Nugen-Hopkins completely get shutdown by Medicine Hat in round 1 and watching Huberdeau do what he is doing against the best of the best the CHL has to offer is like night and day for me.
You can all harp about how the sea dogs are this amazing team this and that. Fact of the matter is, this is one amazing player/prospect.
I don't see how RNH or Landeskog are better than he is in terms of performance and what they can do.

When I watch the games :
He plays the wing with Phillips centering him.
He plays a few shifts a game at center but he mainly plays wing.
Medicine Hat didn't have to cover anyone else, it was "stop RNH and you stop everyone".
With the Sea Dawgs, you have to cover like 2-3 lines all equally, so Huberdeau definitely gets more space and opportunities. Hard to fault RNH for his team being ****.
See his thread regarding the Phillips/Huberdeau, wing/center, faceoff dynamic:

Just curious as to why...there doesn't seem to be many kinks in the armour there. Decent size, dynamic offense, defense, playoff production, sensational hair.
Whos this Gelinas guy?
He was a force all night. Has a Pronger - esque feel to his game.
I repeat, I watch alot of the Sea Dogs' games. I don't need any threads or scouting reports to back up what I think.

Sounds Seguin/Hall-ish.
But, I could see him going to Colorado at 2 also.
Yeah I watched RNH a bit early and he produced a lot but I wasn't really impressed. I don't know who I want but I know that if that was RNH at his best than there must be other prospects in the running.Because oiler fans in western canada want to draft a player with the same low goals from point toal and points from PP as Daigle, Bonsignore, Kelly, Stefan, Ninimaki. Sure makes a person confident in picking RNH with a star studded list of players with same production base.
Give me a freakin break. Elite top players at least WILL their teams to a win or 2 against the odds. And you are making it seem like Medicine Hat was this amazing team. They got swept in 4 the next series.
More and more excuses.......I wonder what people will say if RNH turns to another flop?
If RNH when to Colorado/Ottawa instead of Edmonton etc etc he would be as good or better than Huberdeau etc etc
Nope, Avs will take whoever Oilers don't so either RNH or Larsson. I prefer the forward with the 2nd pick though so I hope they do take Huberdeau or Landeskog instead of Larsson and getting RNH would be amazing but don't see them getting Huberdeau ahead of RNH if Oilers take Larsson.
Oilers management probably doesn't wanna irk the fan base and probably the owners by not taking RNH though even if they're the one team that can use the dman more.
Are you really suggesting that playing on a significantly better team is simply an excuse? They have 8 guys ranked in the top 125 IIRC, a solid goalie, and a few good older players in leadership roles.
In games like tonight, a great team is the difference between a win and a loss. I'm not sure if you even watched the game, but Huberdeau was pretty invisible for large portions of the game. However, the team stays in the game and he gets a great feed and roofs the game winner and he is the hero of the game.
IMO, Jurco and Galiev were both better than Huberdeau tonight, and I thought Kirkpatrick was better than him in Game 1.
It is very similar to the Hall/Seguin debate, and while I was a Hall backer the entire last year, the fact Seguin had little to work with was something I really considered.
