Torts had the Flyers playing most games this year, even opposing teams said they were hard to play against .
He wanted a different view of the players during the last games, maybe discussing matters with Briere, who knows .....
Keep moaning .....kennies are gonna kenny

Opposing teams didn't have any additional trouble beating the team, so what's the point?

Everyone defending Tortorella is gonna end up looking like everyone who defended AV. Like AV, Tortorella is a failure. His days of relevance are far in the past. He admitted he doesn't know what he's doing, he's admitted he isn't going to even try to work with players. Why is this guy getting pumped up after delivering a season devoid of any actual tangible results? Clearing the very low bar of "harder to play against than last year" isn't impressive.

Neither AV or Yeo could get Frost to play well.
He's coming off his first good season of his career at 23.
Guess some players need to be pushed.
This is grotesquely dumb, even for you.

AV had Frost for 20 games when he was 20. Yeo had Frost for 55 games when he was 22 and coming off major shoulder surgery. Torts actively tried to ruin Frost's chances of being a point producer by playing him with worst-in-the-league 4th line wingers, and had to be ordered to play him in the top 9 by Hockey Ops.

judging Torts after one year isn't fair

he didn't have Coots or Atkinson, Hayes and tda and jvr(first half) played when they felt like it

give the new front office some room and time to make changes

they had a bad year, why keep harping on a dead horse ? :deadhorse

there's some encouraging prospects on the way .....

we ALL should hold off until this time in 2024

JMHO

I'm judging Tortorella on the last 20ish years. This isn't a new coach, and it's also a coach who brags about refusing to change and adapt.

The front office has trumpeted they're giving him influence over roster choices. The guy who takes Barkov over McDavid, and spent most of the year trying to make a Cates with bottom -quartile offense his 1C.

JVR wasnt lazy. JVR bought fully into Tortorella style hockey, which happens to waste his entire skillset.

The Tortorella fans assured me he would fix Hayes and TDA, while I assured them he wouldn't.

Couturier and Atkinson aren't anywhere near good enough to make much difference.

***I forgot that I had another Twitter account. That was a fun find after the other one got permanently suspended …for reasons I still don’t know.***

The bottom line is, Tortorella is VERY clearly unfit to coach todays athletes in todays NHL. Of all of the dinosaurs in the league, he is the the king, the Tyrannosaurus Rex. Plenty of older coach's have shown the ability to adapt, but he proudly refuses. They'll never win a playoff series with him behind the bench and if he goes into management, he will contribute to another decade of futility.

Those statements...

sheesh... making it a generational thing "these guys today" inferring guys are soft, saying believes in basically always calling out things in front of everyone, and happy it creates division and tension, saying is open but wont speak to players, not liking specific "styles" of play. Not exactly a surprise, it is who he has always been but yeh... the league has moved on.

We have Tony Pulis as a coach when the top teams have Jurgen Klopps and Pep Guardiolas.

Fine for a relegation battle... but yeh... there are no relegation battles in the NHL.
