have you ever agreed with anyone other then urself even once in ur life ?

im betting not...
It should be easy to answer my questions if they are meritless, as you imply.

So I ask you:

1. What has Luke Richardson ever done to indicate he’s a great candidate? Two first round exits and two missed playoffs as an AHL head coach make him highly qualified?

2. He’s 53. How "forward thinking" is his hire?

Let’s just see what Torts does with this crew before we bury him in the ground. If the club plays better than last season should we be upset?
Torts aint fixing this shit roster..

its beyond any coachs ability to shine this sows ear...

will he bring a better coaching experience, im certain of it...

but in the end, Chucks roster is total garbo. and will remain that way, until thry nuke this Org. from orbit....

Torts doesn't have to, nor do I think he expects to, fix everything in one year.
He'll get the #5 pick this year, #10-15 next year, elevate the play of some of the kids and find out who is a keeper.

Do you not see a problem with that alone? In this upcoming draft especially?

The only way this team keeps from bottoming out is if Torts coaches up the young players - and better a young player that's actually producing than a prospect that may produce, like Kakko.

Torts’ job is to lay the foundation. I don’t think there’s a better coach in the league for that role, & he relishes it.

They will improve. And continued progress is the goal. But it’s not going to be overnight, especially if they keep getting absolutely hammered with bad luck & injuries.

If they play a little better but still suck overall I will be super upset. If you aren't then you just have to accept that you are the type of person incapable of planning beyond a few months.

Are you knew here? The dude won't get an iota of leeway, even if he succeeds. Too many proven and predictable posters will take their opinions to their graves before admitting anything positive or handing out any praise

The team could go to 120 points and you will read it's all Couts, Hart and Sanheim that did it all by themselves while ignoring the coach in the process

Remember when Hagg made a deliberate slap pass that set up a goal? You literally had a couple posters determined to prove that he just missed the net.

This is less about points and more about frost York Allison etc getting better. I do think they need to over play jvr a bit to pump his numbers for the deadline while I think laughton and cooter will thrive under Tortorella
The trick is going to recognize we're sellers even if we are close come March. If he's getting the most out of a young team that's a good thing.

yeah, and it's still a team sport at the end of the day, i mean look at tampa alot of these players that are difference makers they are not even in the top 5 getting hamper with injuries i might add and yet, it's all about tanking that wins championships and it's not because the oilers and maple leafs should be winning championships and not getting bounced out of the playoffs or barely make the playoffs.

for some reason, they are so brainwashed over what the sixers did and they havent squat either.

Weird that you totally ignored Colorado, and also totally ignored how TB got Stamkos and Hedman.

Must be too inconvenient for your stance that isn't rooted in reality.

Unless they sign Gaudreau, the Flyers will be closer to 0 points than 120 next season. They had 61 points last season....with 57 games of Giroux in the lineup.

Also, your entire post is bullshit. No one here WANTS the team to be a total hopeless abject failure and I don't know why that narrative exists. If Torts does a great job and the team plays great and looks like a contender, he will get praise...just like AV did in the 2nd half of 19-20. Neither of those things will happen though.

we are not tanking simple as that, you dont seem to care about players that want to play to win think, it's about you wanting to be than the 80s new york islanders, not even one cup would satisfy you.

The team was about the same without Giroux as with Giroux, he's no longer a player who can carry a team. They won less b/c young players are learning how to finish and to win games, but the metrics were the same.

The success this year will be determined by health and the progress made by young players.

Going after high priced FAs would be a bad move, but winning because the Cates - Frost - Tippett line combines for 50+ goals would be a good thing.

You're very good at concocting fantasy statements nobody has ever said and then arguing against them.

The players aren't going to win. The team is badly managed. They will never win as things are now. They will never get one Cup, much less several. For some reason you seem militant about continuing this failure.

They won less because Fletcher made the team worse.

Not according to advanced metrics, they were actually slightly better.
Probably b/c they were working in players like Cates, Tippett, Attard, Zamula, Hogberg down the stretch.
Any improvement this year will come from Torts getting more out of those young players.
