maybe he WASN'T the locker room problem.....ever think of that ?Hayes being a key voice is going to be shit. Pure shit.
soon, we'll all know .....think positive, brand new year

Correct. The thread is very wrong...Oops wrong thread.
Hayes’ strong verbal support of Yandle was disgusting. Yandle was the worst player to wear a Flyer jersey and get consistent PT in the history of the franchise. What Hayes said about Yandle having his iron man streak was awful. Yandle was gifted unwarranted PT and blocked others from ice time. Hayes is a problem.maybe he WASN'T the locker room problem.....ever think of that ?

What has this team done in the last decade to deserve leeway?again..... Flyers are starting anew.....let's see how they progress thru training camp.....
can all the naysayers just wait before criticizing ?
can't change any/all that happened last year, give these guys some room to breath and
maybe form some comradery
I actually don’t hate Torts. Yet being the key word. I’m open to giving him a chance at least.
Even if he gets them playing better, the ceiling is ultimately nothing to cheer about. He can work miracles, but without a commitment to some high end picks for a few years - his work is essentially for naught.
He's the best coaching hire since Lavi.
And we saw how that turned out for Lavi when Holmgren and Snider sabotaged him with lousy management...He's the best coaching hire since Lavi.
These problems pre-date Hayes, or have you forgotten the 2018-19 season so quickly?Tortz has locker-room converns...I bet it revolves around Hayes and "friends"...
John Tortorella has ‘major concerns’ about Flyers’ locker room
If you think the Flyers’ locker room is in a bad place without Claude Giroux, John Tortorella probably agrees with you.www.broadstreethockey.com
Hayes wasn't throwing the guy who stood by him through the death of his brother under the bus.
And I suspect the locker room understood that, and didn't hold that against him - given the circumstances, NOT having his friend's back would have raised far more eyebrows.
“Decisions need to be made every day. Us players don’t make those decisions. It’s truly on us, the reason he probably had to sit out a game. I can’t say I agree with it. The impact that Keith has on myself and the guys in that locker room is something that can’t be measured. I mean, I know sometimes the media is all over him, but what he provides to some of the young guys on this team is something that no one else can do."
Oh, please. There's a lot of ground between throwing under the bus and publicly saying it's a mistake.
It's as easy as saying: "It's not my call, but I love Keith Yandle. He's one of my best friends. He's honest with himself, understands the business, nothing lasts forever. That streak was a helluva accomplishment, and even if he's not playing, he's still going to be positive and encouraging."
Keith Yandle can be a fine person -- and he could've still contributed in such capacity from the press box, instead of providing those same young players with no ice time and magic words at intermission down 5-0 -- but he was quite literally the worst player in the league. Getting caved analytically is one thing, but getting caved in goal differential is so obvious, even to players. His effort level was truly dog shit; he knew he was washed out there -- played anyway. Whining about the worst player in the league's silly asterisk streak is the opposite of "winning culture."
Getting carried away a little? Hayes doesn't have the pull people try to attribute to him.Oh, please. There's a lot of ground between throwing under the bus and publicly saying it's a mistake.

Nah Yandle is a selfish twat. Giving up pucks to avoid contact and in turn hurting his teams just to chase a worthless streak makes him one.

Hayes, Yandle, Brassard had played for AV in NY. That's about it.
I doubt anyone in the clubhouse gave it a second thought, with the season lost, they probably felt there was no harm letting Yandle get the record. And how many hockey players are well versed in political double speak?
WIth Torts in town, Hayes has no influence, Atkinson will be the player everyone looks to, the players b/c he can clue them in on Torts, Torts b/c he knows Atkinson and trusts him.

Nah Hayes is to blame for the Flyers decades 40+ year of failure. Also his frat boys he brought in. Who are these frat boys he brought in by the way? Yandle maybe? Who else?maybe he WASN'T the locker room problem.....ever think of that ?

That's an incomplete timeline, dead. Yandle's sub-NHL play started way before the season began circling the bowl and was a contributor to it becoming lost. He helped to create the environment that sustained being able to play awfully and not miss a game.Getting carried away a little? Hayes doesn't have the pull people try to attribute to him.

So we’re just ignoring the fact that he’s also friends with Atkinson?
Yeah, they didn’t give it a second thought when the season was lost but they had the thought the entire season leading up to that point. Keith Yandle was awful and defending him and Chuck is a losing endeavor.
They brought in, I don’t know, six players last year? Four were close to Hayes. I’m sure that’s just a coincidence.
