Its Sathers fault that his 50-win team with a 2-1 lead in the CF was beat by Ryan Carter, Steven Gionta and a 40-year-old fat ass?
Heard the same when Renney was fired. Also remember first few Tortorella games, the Rangers scored a bunch of goals. I wasn't on here, but I'm assuming Tom Renney was blamed a lot for not getting the most out of his players.
Bingo. All the cover necessary for an easy Richards buyout with no questions.
At least all the buyouts (Holik, Redden, Drury, Richards, etc) haven't hurt the Rangers. It's just money, and while not being anywhere near cost effective, Drury by all accounts was helpful in the development of Callahan and without Richards, the Rangers wouldn't of made it to the conference finals last year.
There's an argument to made that Glen Sather has screwed over Dolan's checkbook more so than the fans.
17 goals is the best he ever scored in a season and somehow you think that means hes a top 6 center.
Like I said, hes a 3rd line center who has some value on the PP. Hes a 15/30 guy. Thats it. Doesnt have any of this "major upside"
He didn't "completely change" his persona. He went from being a pyschotic madman down to a major hardass.
Assists are a thing too. If he puts up 50-55 points, then yes, he'd be a 2C.

Torts is awful to play for. A good guy away from the rink but NO fun at all to be around. Very smart hockey guy but I played for him and ugh
We're actually judging him on how he's played for the Rangers, not the Blue Jackets.
i feel the same way. the guy bled ranger blue and really made a difference. but for some reason he couldnt get goals out of a very-very-very skilled group. in fact, when skilled players arrived at the trade deadline and started scoring, he made them stop scoring. that was amazing and probably the last straw.

Or the team finds a real top 6 center, and he can be the 3rd line center and be very good there....
Our team is loaded with third liners. Hagelin, Callahan, Brassard...
Alain Vigneault & Lindy Ruff have to be the top candidates for the #Rangers vacancy. Marc Crawford tells me he is "interested" as well.

Yea, because its much more accurate to go by the tiny sample size than the other 7 years of his pro career.
Oscar Lindberg who by all reports is very good defensively should center our third line at some point next year. Brass is a 2nd line center with very good instincts and hands on the PP.
Sorry, I'm bad at selling the sarcasm.I've been saying this for a while now ... problem is we have a lot of role players and not enough elite players.
Brassard is a career 3rd liner. Yes he had a little streak going, but he is at best a 15/30 guy. Dorsett is a bum. Moore is the only one of the three with upside and potential to be special.

A player does not get established as a 1C or even a great 2C based on a sample size of 25 games after years and years of inconsistent production, while getting spoonfed favorable minutes. That is completely asinine. Sure, Brassard could become one, but a player rarely breaks out at the age of 26-27.
Actually no, don't think I said that, while it is true he's a top six center that's not the reason. Was just disproving your ignorant statements.
In '11-'12 only 28 centers scored 20 goals or more, that's not even one per team, oh and Datsyuk had 19. Guess he's not a top six player either right? Henrik Sedin had 14, Thornton had 18...
Playmaking centers don't score a lot of goals but it's clearly not worth arguing with you because you have no idea what you're discussing.
