You think he would currently have 20-25 pts at ES!? And you never answered how many pts Tavares has with Marner on the ice or where you’re getting these stats.

I have answered. I don't think it matters how many he has without Marner. I said when you get him on that PP, maybe he has 20 to 25 total.

Line Production - Frozen Tools

I think you're trying to overcomplicate things. The question is - who would you put in that slot, to maximize production. Tavares has been in the position of being asked to produce without good linemates, most of his career, and has been successful. Draisaitl has asked to centre a line without good linemates by the Oilers, and never has. Of course you're going to favour TAvares for that spot.

Anyway, you have your opinion, I have mine. I'm just backing mine up. You're trying to divert and use conjecture. Have a nice day.

Why does it not matter how many Tavares has away from Marner? It proves my point that every elite player has another player they produce with. Not one player in the league does it alone. Thanks for the link, by the way. And Tavares has only 3 points away from Marner. Pretty sure Drai would have 3 points.

you're still not getting it. The excuses have always been that when Draisaitl is away from McDavid, he doestn' produce, and that's because he plays with crappy players.

Well, Tavares DID do it alone, for many years. So, it would make sense to put Tavares in that spot, to see if he can succeed, like he has most of his career, where Draisaitl hasn't. It's not like Bailey and Anders Lee are miles better than RNH and Yamamoto. if anything, RNH and Yamamoto are better. And he scored just fine with them.

I'm not sure why it matters. I think we all know they'd finally be able to keep McDavid and Draisaitl together without having to worry about a second scoring line.

Tavares DID do it with some subpar linemates. He currently DOESNT. Also what he was doing was producing at slightly over a ppg pace, Drai is 50+ points over that. To say that that is all because of McDavid is the issue. And this poll is about current. Let’s also not act like his linemates were non NHL quality, they were often good players just playing a line to high

"He DID do it" is better than "has tried many times but never been able to".

Anyway, that's all I have to say about that. I think Tavares would be 2C if on the Oilers.

He'd be 2nd line C to... Chandler Stephenson? Or William Karlsson? really?

hmmmmm interesting take.

Ohh yea I remember, you may have not heard this but Vegas has this guy named Jack Eichel and he’s pretty good. Though he is hurt right now, I’m pretty sure he’s gonna be slotted in as the #1 center.

Would you have you boy Tavares as your #1c over Eichel????

i doubt he was including Eichel...

That said, I think there are quite a few here that would rather not have Eichel on their team. not that I agree, just sayin.

I do'nt really think so. I've been told over and over again that Draisaitl doesn't score when he's split up with McDavid because he is playing with garbage when they're split up. Tavares has, for most of his career, produced with garbage on his line. In fact, he's made that garbage produce. So, I don't think you can really call both McDAvid and Draisaitl centres, at least not at the same time. And if you split Draisaitl up from McDavid, Tavares outproduces him. So, I think you call Tavares the second line centre there.

BAsically, I think Tavares could boost RNH's production like Draisaitl never could. He made Anders Lee a 40 goal scorer, FFS.

basically, split from McDAvid, TAvares outproduces Draisailt, so he would be second line centre there, in just about any scenario you come up with.

No other Leaf fans want to comment on the above post to say whether they agree with the take or not?

Just for a second, imagine he doesn't wear a leafs Jersey, have a word with yourselves and cast your vote again

The options in the poll are all at center only. If it had the option for top 6 wing I would have picked that instead.
This! I would think especially the way Maurice is that the jets would go
Tavares-Scheifele-Wheeler
Conner-Dubois-Ehlers

realistically there isn't a team in the league he wouldn't be 1st or 2nd best winger, so if a team had 2 elite centres plus him, he's either playing 2nd line centre, or 1st line wing.

Boston has two wingers better, but obviously not 2 centers.
