There's no cheaper deal to be had unless he sucks in the playoffs. Hopefully he does not hold the Leafs hostage and ask for every last nickel and defers some money to lower the AAV. That would be a win-win for him and the team.

Don't care that he wasn't selected, but there were some weak players on Canada that he could have replaced.
