Whatever.

The NHL and referees have been operating a secret conspiracy against Boston for years now...Better?

Well it could be fact.Bottom in powerplay chances forever year after year.Watched Kevin Miller the other day get smoked from behind by Ovechkin and not a hearing. The kicker ,Miller missed last 2 games. If you do not think Bruins get singled out quicker then other teams your blind.I saw yesterday a fine of $$5'000 for slewfooting .What did Marchand get for same thing? I could go on all day about Bruins getting different punishments for same stuff.

This is the biggest problem I have:

The NHL’s Dean of Discipline, Stephane Quintal, recently joined Ron Fournier’s radio show to talk hockey. He hit on a few topics, including the decision-making process, the lack of suspension for Montreal defenseman Alexei Emelin’s hit on Dallas Stars center Jason Spezza, and – most interestingly – PK Subban’s tendency to slew-foot opponents.

Quintal shared that he’s spoken with Subban to warn him about slew-footing opponents, and advised that his predecessor, Brendan Shanahan, had done the same.

There have already been two suspensions this season for slew-footing, one to Dallas Stars winger Ryan Garbutt and the other to Brad Marchand of the Boston Bruins.

Why does a guy like PK continually get warnings, but others (especially Bruins) get suspensions? AS STATED AND CONFIRMED BY GUY DOLING OUT THE PUNISHMENTS!!!

Looks like Quintal is from Quebec and was a scab player for quite a few years. Case closed

look he and the habs GM are good friends

MB: I’ll tell the player that Stephane will be calling shortly so he knows it’s coming, but I’m not part of the discussion between Stephane and the payer. I’ll know what he’s talking to the player about. When you’re in touch with Stephane it’s usually not good news. Stephane is a good friend of mine and I’ve known him for a long time, but I’d prefer not to get calls from him. (laughs)

If he wasn't falling down Liles fore arm/elbow would have connected to the chest not the head...I really don't think it was that bad a hit

There's probably only one or two who really feel like this, and I don't believe it to be true. What I do believe to be true is that these penalties and supplemental discipline are completely driven by the reputation of the player, Bruin or not. Subban has had multiple infractions (incl hits to the head) and never gets disciplined. How many "warnings" is he allowed for plays that others would have gotten multiple games for?

I really believe that these hits and slew-foots should be added to the plays coaches can challenge. Last night was a prime example. Ryan Reaves (who has a rep) was given a 5 min major for a hit to the head on Christian Ehrhoff when he never even made contact with the head. On the replay, you can clearly see Ehrhoff bailing on the play because he sees Reaves coming and Reaves hits him in the chest with his forearm. Ehrhoff does the obligatory head snap, stays down, and Reaves gets a major and the gate. Of course, Chicago scores on the ensuing PP.

Hits to the head are a serious problem. Players embellishing on these plays is fast becoming a serious problem as well.

The "subban warning" isn't that what the crooks in the financial industry got for tanking the economy?

Plus re-watching the Tampa game, there were at least half a dozen blatant penalties not called. Total PP's for the bruins = 0.

It's sad when the two choices you have to explain the inconsistencies in discipline for a major professional sports league are;

1. They're totally incompetent
2. They have a blatant bias against certain team(s)

I really don't like Quintal making decisions on Bruins players when he is good friends with MB and the Habs organization.

Didn't Campbell have someone else handle the disciplinary issues for whatever team Greg played for at the time?

I didn`t like Shanahan, one of the dirtiest SOB`s out there doing it either, or Chris bloody Pronger being part of the Players Safety Committee

the prospect that he goes soft on hearings for habs players like Subban who he has admitted to warning doesnt make me feel good. Now he calls Liles to the stand for an incidental bang bang play where there was no intent. This play should not have been reviewed by Quintal.

Any word on when "hearing" is held? I'm assuming it's a phone call?

If not today, nothing stopping him from playing tonight, right?

With games in hand for several teams below us, we could really do with another W tonight.

Woo!! Right decision..

Yup.

Player with no history and clearly no intent (he's clearly "reaching" for his chest but he's lower than expected and it results in an inadvertent headshot) didn't deserve anything.

A hearing to hear his side and no discipline is exactly the right call. Credit where credit is due to the league.

Literally one minute after I ask a question about a hearing, you slam the door shut with the perfect answer and outcome!
