Improvement of our bottom pair wasn't a ''need'', and definitely not with a stay at home dman who isn't all that mobile and can't move the puck.

If you don't think upgrading Kulak was a need, that means, unequivocally, you're satisfied with Kulak...

I'm fine with getting Romanov a steady non-puck mover. He's the puck mover on the bottom pair. Edmundson and Petry work well having one puck mover and one stay at home D.

Problem is Chariot should have ben the 3rd pair d-man on his return.

We''ll see more of Edmundson and Chariot in the top 4. Please help me lmao

I also want to point out that me talking about Jon Merrill in the trade thread before it happened was NOT because I wanted him....but because he was known to be available and that's the type of player Bergevin wants....And I wasn't wrong...lol.

Again, Merrill is not a bad player. But you can't look at a hockeyk team by fillling it with not bad players. You need complementary players. You need everything. You need a mix. Merrill is bringing something we have in spades...and it's still not good enough. I mean, let say you put tons of mustard in a hot-dog....like A LOT.....and even if you like mustard, you feel it's way too much....will the hot-dog be better if you ADD more mustard?

Sounds like he is a reliable D, no offensive element but at least can take care of business in the D zone. I’ll give him a shot.

Well, it was a "need", but one that could have been addressed internally, by deploying one of Chiarot/Edmundson to play with Romanov, after we've aquired a proper partner for Weber.

Hahaha..ha.. It's not funny anymore. Bergevin is the king of dumpster diving while ignoring team needs.

Kulak third pair d-man
Chariot third pair d-man
Merill third pair d-man
Edmundson low second/third pair d-man.

Man the left is stacked with pure talent

Not even scared to play tampa bay who only runs
Hedman
Mcdonagh
Romanov

on the left side

Who do they have on the right? We have Petry, Weber, Romanov.

We just knocked Kulak to the stands. Currently, our left side is our stay at home side and our right side has the talent.

Now MB needs to find Weber a puck mover, because Weber needs to be the stay at home on his pair. This trade may have fixed the bottom pair (the Romanov pair). Now MB needs to fix the 2nd pair (the Weber pair).

Ok another low depth dman? This is better than having Mete in the lineup? Oy, I cannot wait for Bergevein to be fired.

You know, at the beginning of this season, I allowed myself to fantasize fooled that we had a big defence that would be mean and nasty and throw its weight around and intimidate the other teams forwards like the bruins used to do to us a few years back. But instead, we got a bunch of slow cream puffs.
