What's the point of this part? What does it have to do with anything related to coaching strategy? Or maybe you're just looking for opportunities to show off your bigotry?

The poster’s posting history suggests that he doesn’t delve into, nor endorses bigotry. Whenever we’re using a language qualifier on this forum, even where used without ulterior motive nor malice, we’re unfortunately all walking a thin line as it can easily be misconstrued.

Anyone who has spent time on this board knows that.

Wilde is the master of lowering the bar.

How about giving this team credit when they stop being mediocre. Stop looking at micro transactions to justify praise and start looking at the aggregate.

The team hasn't been good for a long time. Enough of this he wins trades bullshit, or "i'll give him credit if he doesn't sell the farm." GTFOH with these fake standards.

This is exactly a bergevin trade. In a vacuum it's fine. Decent player for not much in assets, though everyone seems to not care a player was moved. Most just mention the 5 th round pick. For me its wasted cap space on something doesnt improve the team in a significant way. That 1 million could be the difference between an ok player and a good player. But i guess it wont matter bevause more than likely we wont be trading for anything but the grind.

5 hours to go. No upgrades in sight.

Nobody talks about the player because he was playing on the 4th line in the AHL, he's not even worth a 7th round pick. He just went the other way so contract exchanged were 1 on 1.

'Window's opening wide'

Do these idiots not realize what our actual division is?

He's not wrong. I do believe he's wrong about the 'strong core pieces', though. I think he should have phrased it 'aging core pieces'.

He's also wrong about the 10 years of growth. Forwards usually reach their prime at around 24. After that there's not much growth. He says we must be patient but that's an oxymoron. We are trying to win now but somehow must play the patience card. I would agree with him had we sell at the deadline last year. But we did not and our core pieces are aging and our kids not ready.

Who precisely in the D prospect pool is a likely top-3 PMD? That's not rhetorical, I don't follow D all that much. What I've read sounds like Norlinder, Harris or none, but IDK.

I also don't really get the patience card when Bergevin is also trying to win with Price and Weber, the options for that are now or not at all.

Right, but are any of those likely top-3 PMD in the NHL?

all 4 of them have ceilings that would put them in top-3, if not top-2/elite PMD range... likelihood of topping out there is another question. Guhle/Harris probably have the best odds/lowest floors. Strubble the least likely but also the best physical tools... Norlinder either makes it as a top-4 player or not at all.

Detroit reporter on tsn690.

Says Merrill can play right side no problem...

Says he's good defensively, is +2 with only 5 points on a -43 team...

Says he can play up and down the lineup...

Never saw him play, on never cared much for him. Is he a Gorges type? Or more of the Chiarot, can't move my legs too much? Can he drop them? With his looks, he sure seems to be the type. LOL

More like a Gorges. He is the real definition of a "defensive" defenceman. Block lots of shots.
