That would be a wayI meant in the case of price they work out a deal if he wanted to play for Seattle

But Markov had one or two more seasons maximum. He was close from retirement, folks here talk about him like if he was still in his prime. Maybe he was good for only half a season. How good he was in his russian league, hummmm ...4 years later, and we have no replacememt for Markov either......seems to be a very slow process.
When the owner goes along with everything that the great one(9 years of excuses and no results) wants to do what do we expect really? We are up against the cap with a bunch of over the hill players with ridiculous contracts. The Gm still believes in this group of overpaid underachieving players and Molson agrees.I can't even bear to watch anymoreLeafs got Foligno and we got the corpse of Eric Staal and an improved #6 dman. Exciting times.
Merill play both sides as effectively from the Detroit beat writer
Ca sent la coupe.
Sounds like he is a reliable D, no offensive element but at least can take care of business in the D zone. I’ll give him a shot.
Well there's MB's annual depth dman deadline deal. I know nothing about this player at all.
Petry's most stable partner ever?!?
He’s in transition. He used to be Merrill Streep.
Given the price paid for all...Leafs got Foligno and we got the corpse of Eric Staal and an improved #6 dman. Exciting times.
Danault is +20 and was useless 90% of the season.
+/- means nothing.
There isn't 3 D men worth protecting on the team right now, tbh
Romanov is exempt.
Petry is our own only other good defenseman.
Yes I believe this has to be the next step...this is going on 9 damn yearsAt this point, we should all wish that Habs miss the Playoffs and push Molson to clean up the management floor.
His mistake was not putting 10 mil on Price. He did improve our roster though.. He had a great off-season.
His mistake was probably staking 10m on Price. We just don't have a super star because we never get 1st OA and our 3rd OA don't turn out to be half as good as Huberdeau.
I’d say most here, not all have not watched much of anything but Habs, they quick to judge our acquisitions as failures and everyone else’s as grand slam wins!!!Given the price paid for all...
I'd say I'm good with that.
A 1st for Nick Foligno?
Have you guys watched Foligno play the last few years?
Habs can protect all the forwards they want anywaysYou don’t necessarily need to go with the 3 dman protection option.

People have a hard time seperating 2012-18 from 2018-. I get it, I wanted him fired after the 2017-18 season too especially with the disgusting acquisitions before the 2017 playoffs but I was able to overlook it at the moment - even though you could make me a very convincing argument that he still should've been fired and I'd definitely listen - because of his relative success from 2013-2017 playoff wide with the exception of 2016 since price got injured early on.
But after 2017-18 when I wanted him fired, Molson gave him a new life and at that moment MB announced that the team would be persuing a retool in which they had a top 3 pick, overachieved and got a #15 pick but still got Caufield then wouldve had a top 10 pick if it weren't for the covid format. But at that moment you have to seperate your feelings for his work from before the retool was announced and purely judge the era of 2018-. In that time I don't think he's done a bad enough Job to be fired but I also don't think he should be resigned after next season.
Since the retool was announced MB:
Turned Galchenyuk into Domi (then later into Anderson), Selected KK, selected Romanov, selected Ylonen, traded Pacioretty for Tatar, Suzuki and a 2nd he then traded for multiple picks (one of which was used for Norlinder), selected Caufield, selected Guhle, selected other promising prospects, went full bargain Bergevin modes and fleeced teams on various small scale trades in that period (if that's worth anything), finally acquired an elite backup for basically a third, and signed Toffoli. He basically built the future core in the span of 2 and 1/3 years.
Markov was a function of multi-year contract demand, Habs offered a 1-year dealMarkov too old but hey lets get Eric Staal
Smh
Yes but the Leafs have a shot to go far AND they'll mortgage the future on anyone. Not a big fan of this move , Toronto seems to be gearing up for a nice run and Habs continue with the middling type moves...
