Small sample size but I thought his playmaking in the WJC was pretty good, and one of the primary reasons I wanted him

JJ looking like a steal and Quinn looking like a reach puts them in the same tier for me atm. But injuries and a weird season played a role in development. Would Quinn be a more exciting prospect if he put up 50 goals again? We'd probably just be complaining about CHL rules keeping him out of the A.

Quinn and Peterka comes down to ceiling/floor for me.

Quinn, IMO, has the far higher ceiling than JJP. But JJP has the higher floor and is much more likely to make something out of his career. Quinn has the far higher bust possibility.

I still feel just fine slotting JJP behind Quinn as a prospect, but I consistently favor the higher ceiling in prospect rankings.

Fair. All of my mumbo jumbo was just to state that I need to see more from Quinn because I didn't think it was a fair season to judge him. I'm excited to see what steps both take moving forward.

Rochester will be a much more exciting team to watch compared to the Sabres. JJP is my favorite Sabres prospect even over Quinn, Rosen and Power when draft position is taken into consideration.

Don't know if I should slow my roll, but I am personally so excited for Peterka. I think we've got a real gem. I hope he can be as well-rounded and talented as he looks right now. We don't need him to be Brad Marchand, but I think it's possible he could develop into a fairly high scoring agitator with other abilities as well. I rank him near the top of our prospect pool.

Peterka over Quinn is nothing more than the emotional juxtaposition of Quinn not being Rossi combined with Peterka being drafted 10 or 15 picks later than he should have been.

Quinn does not have a lower floor than Peterka, he just has a greater chance of not justifying where he was picked. He is a better prospect with a higher floor and a higher ceiling.

I say this even being a fan of Peterka’s.

Peterka has better feet. Quinn has better vision, better hands and better attention to detail defensively.

The Peterka vs Quinn debate will likely get a whole lot clearer after this season with them being teammates in Rochester.

The only time they played against similar competition was at the WJCs last year. JJP was tied for the team lead with Tim Stutzle in points with 10 points in 5 games. Quinn was way farther down the Canada lineup and only had 5 points in 7 games.

Disagree on the vision component. I think peterka makes a higher percentage of good plays with the puck, while Quinn has some bigger plays but a higher tendency to turn it over

We can agree to disagree, and certainly not without it.

Quinn was put into a defensive role with a powerful Canadian team while Peterka was on their top and only line with Germany. You can't compare their roles with their clubs.Love both prospects though
