Player Discussion Joel Armia turnaround year?

Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. You cant believe what they did to him? You mean give him 14 million bucks and a generous 4th year of term?
Lmao. Armia was generous for accepting that kind of money and smaller role. There are, however, some signs of respect. He played A in his chest last game.

Anyone see that (or can post) that god mode spin-o-rama Armia pulled off on Bourque in practice?

1+3 and he didn't even try that much. It's crazy they're going to waste him again this year. I still can't believe what they did to him after a career year, and only to find that Anderson's(0.46 -10)impact and production was worse with a minute more EV+PP icetime.

The only thing wasting Armia is himself. The team has given him plenty of chances to step up and produce like a top six player but the guy just doesn't have it in him to do it consistently. But man is Armia a treat to watch when he's on his game. I'm not saying Anderson is much better but at least he's skating hard every game.

Umm nope. 19-20 they gave him top6 minutes and he produced like top6 forward does. Then last season his role was given to Anderson who couldn't produce at the same rate. 0.52 vs 0.46 ppg

He's often a slow starter and often seems to get injured when he starts to get into a groove every season. Then it takes a while for him to get going again once he's back. But when he's peaking, he's certainly one of our best forwards all around. He makes everyone else better.

Don’t worry. Drouin is back!

If we're going by numbers, Armia had 22 ES points in 58 games in 19-20 while Anderson had 21 in 52 last year so Anderson actually produced slightly better. Different kind of players though, I guess MB wanted more speed in his top six which prompted him to go after Anderson, even if he has his flaws as well.

Comparing the two is comparing apples and oranges. as notes, they bring different éléments to the ice and opting for speed and physicality VS less speed and puck possession is just that, a choice for your top-6.

Was on pace for 28 points last season and 29 points 3 seasons ago

While having pp time and top 6 minutes often.
What Am I missing?
Armia has 67 Points in 156 games since he joined the Habs.

That's 35 points pace over an 82 games season.

He mainly played with KK and Lehkonen...

He got some minutes on the so-called top lines here and there but he was mainly used in the bottom six for the majority of the time.

And while he also got some PP time he was usually used on the second wave and never was a real fixture on the PP.

Anyway, all this to say that him hitting 50 points is not that crazy IMO.
