With Gallagher, Anderson, Toffoli and Caufield coming off his ELC in two years, I can't see this team investing heavily in wingers. Armia will likely be a cap casualty.

we'll be fine cap-wise, Alzner's contract is coming off the books and we'll be losing Tatar + Drouin's contract

He's a middle 6er who can play on any line, even on the 1st line if needed. On top of that he's a big possession player and he plays in every situation. You're paying for versatility, Armia won't take less than Byron.
Byron scored 20 g two years in a row when he got paid
Armia had never scored more than 15.
Armia at anything over 2.5 needs to walk. We need to
Get top line talent to compete. If you think this.cup run is the real habs team you’re gonna be really disappointed

They’re better players Than Armia. Armia is a legitimate bottom line player. Let him go to UFA and see what offers he gets. It won’t be 3 million
Gross overpayment for a limited skill set and with a player who can’t keep up with faster teams.
It will be very interesting to see if making the finals impacts the types of offers Montreals UFA's get. The XD may cause teams to lose a 3rd line type player, which could create more demand for guys like Armia, Staal and maybe even Perry too.

It's not that simple if you include all the variables into equation and project for the next 2-3 years.

I think Saad is a pipe dream.

Armia might be a possibility money-wise, but not necessarily term-wise.

I'd love them to bring Killorn. His contract runs out simultaneously with Caulfield's ELC, and (presumably) Kotkaniemi's bridge deal, and his cap hit could probably be trimmed down to about $3,5M with Tampa retaining and/or a third party renting some of their cap space for a pick.

I'd like to keep him but it may not be in the cards. He's worth a lot on the ice, but not the amount he'll get as an UFA. If he takes a small discount he's a greater all-situations player who slots anywhere in the lineup.

Lot faster than Gallagher

Not if you seek to add an eventual replacement for Weber immediately, while he's still on the books for a final season, because of the availability of players like Hamilton.

Doubt Armia will gladly take a paycut to reach your maximum.

Likely looking for 3M. Too much? Of course, at 2.5M, that would be better for the flexibility it might give the Habs regarding the Cap

Any updates on Armia? Seems odd that we protected him if Bergevin doesn't plan on re-signing him. Guessing we will hear something before Wednesday - curious what price and term he ends up getting. Hard to pay a 4th liner anything higher than 2M / season

He's more than a 4th liner. He plays on both special teams and is a big reason our PK set records in the playoffs. When the bench gets shortened to 3 lines in a close game, Armia gets bumped up and is out there every 3rd shift. He's big, protects the puck well, has a nice pair of mitts, he plays a strong 2 way game, and he scores some clutch goals.

This. And I'd be bullish on him having a great season next year, building from the confidence of having had a very impactful playoff run.

The only thing with Armia is constancy, but when he's in his game he's a really solid player

When he play at his best, he is a amazing player. Another good trade by Bergevin. We gave up nothing for a very good top 9 player in Armia and at his best, he play like a top 6 player.

He makes any line he is on better. Sure, he hasn't cracked 20 goals yet, but there's no denying that he has the skills to play with the top guys and the grit to play with the workers. It was nice to see him play some LW as well last year. He's a treat to have on our team.

2019-2020 season is on pace 22 goals in 82 games. 16 goals in 58 games. No doubt that if he stays healthy, he can crack 20 goals.

1+3 and he didn't even try that much. It's crazy they're going to waste him again this year. I still can't believe what they did to him after a career year, and only to find that Anderson's(0.46 -10)impact and production was worse with a minute more EV+PP icetime.

You cant believe what they did to him? You mean give him 14 million bucks and a generous 4th year of term?
THE HUMANITY!
