He's definitely getting paid this offseason after these playoffs. Wish they extended him while they had a chance. As much hype as Anderson got, Armia provided similar offense/good on boards/way better defensively/less physical but still hits

agreed. Anderson has no board play though, he fooled me forsure loll

Think he has nothing against to stay but Habs do not afford him.
When you lose him, one thing which is sure Ylönen cannot replace him

You just know he’s gonna get the puck back when we don’t have possession. He’s like a shark. I don’t know where that rumor he is unhappy comes from, but he is core to the playoff success so far for sure. Fun to see him with the geriatrics down low too he’s perfect with Staal and Perry.

The success of the Habs this postseason is all predicated on the players buying in, sacrificing and playing like a unit. If he was being as petty as you are suggesting, he wouldn't be playing very well and also we wouldn't want him back.

Not sure where all this conjecture is coming from lmao, there was a Finnish article a few days ago where he seemed very happy with himself AND the Habs this postseason. Best case scenario would be winning the cup this season and then signing big money at a club like Kraken with more ice time if the Habs can't afford him. :D

Was half joking he's as good as Anderson before season started but I think he's going to end up with a juicy contract at this rate.

Math wont work . Danault is the interesting one. An expansion team would love him. Solid player. I could see the Kracken signing him.

Math won't work due to cap space? Let Tatar go and we loose one of Allen/Chiarot to Seattle and there is more cap space than you might think. Even more if Drouin is still on LTIR, traded, or retires.

Armia could be interviewed by Seattle prior to the expansion draft but he's not going to sign that early or commit to an expansion team. He likely wants to stay in Montreal or if he wants to leave, he will explore his options as a UFA. There will be no shortage of offers at $3M ish

I was told I was an idiot when I said Armia is damn valuable player as there are not to many of player this type available.

One of the best in boards in whole NHL. Also gets it going when it matters.

right and apparently he isn’t physical because he doesn’t hit to hurt rather hits to get the puck lol

What I like about the so-called 4th line is even when they're not scoring they give us offensive zone time, which gives us momentum.

Armia's skill set is perfect for that role, getting and maintaining puck possession, cycling, and creating scoring chances.

He's even started to hit with some hurt in his hits during these playoffs.

It's huge to have a line that can actually cycle the puck and create some zone time. Counter-attacking has worked for us, but I don't think we'd be where we are today without the 3rd/4th line.

“We made a decision with the company. Joel stayed home for a few days without skating. There are definitely nerves with protocol, tests. We were told that it would be best to put him on ice for a warmup and activate his circulation.”

Absolutely f***ing laughable. Could someone inform Luke and co. that it's playoffs and Armia one of the key reasons we got this far.

"But we assumed he felt nervous and and and..." Everyone is f***ing nervous Luke.

"And Jake played well, he helped kill the penalty, he framed well with Perry and Stall and helped puck traffic."

This is pathetic. The most predictable pile of horseshit lmao.

We're still dealing with a pandemic, so not everything will be perfect.

I would have thought they wouldn't put Armia in because of travel fatigue, not having the important afternoo pregame nap, etc.. i.e. due to energy level, not nerves. Perhaps when Luke was saying nerves he was also refering to energy level.

At any rate, as long as Armia is back in for game 2.

Hopefully he knew that he wont play even he joined warmup.
Anyway strange coaching.
They need to play him more. Evans played same minutes and did basicaly nothng.
Huge confidence boost again for Armia.

I’m on the fence about him sitting last game; they know their staff who knows. That possession and pk skill are a need for tonight though; They have to cut that ice in half in the d zone.

...or sit on Kucherov and hope CP 31 pulls a Pat Roy vs Stamkos over the next week.

Seattle would try to sign Danault but he won't sign. Danault don't want to leave Montreal and if he does, he will look at contenders that need a shutdown middle 2C.

3 hours travel fatigue ? Come on. He had enough rest and those guys run 100% adrenaline by now anyways. Mentioning energy level would be as stupid as "we fly him over for a warmup to activate his circulation".

Not true. NHL players all take a game day nap. Why? Because it increases their energy level. If you don't understand what a role energy level has, you don't understand sports.

NHL GM's won't fall for small runs of good play. Armia is a solid top 6 winger but he will get Toffoli treatment. Anderson's skating for a big man is why he is attractive. Armia is solid in a lot of areas and he will get offers.

If there were no flat cap, I'd be more concerned

Armia with or without a f***ing nap is a massive upgrade. Probably had that most crucial nap ever on the plane. Naps are for regular season.
