The hero of game 4, 2x SHGs, impossible to knock off the puck essentially cycling at will, anticipating and intercepting everything defensively...
Why can't he bring it every game??! God is he ever frustrating.
There was never anything frustrating in Armia's game since he got here. If he was at his best for most of the time, he'd be a top-10 RW in the game, not a middle-6 forward making below 3 million. The hero of game 4, 2x SHGs, impossible to knock off the puck essentially cycling at will, anticipating and intercepting everything defensively...

Adjust your expectations.
That's true. He is quite injury prone, or perhaps, as you said, unlucky. Last year, he went down while being one of our best forwards. This year, he has a Jagr-esque game in Vancouver and ends up with a concussion. Glad to have him healthy this playoffs. He will likely be lost due to cap reasons, but I have always appreciated his game. The guy has also had so much bad luck with injuries and especially with their timing. Every time he has started to make a good stretch, he has been injured. Thus, mark me as a very worried person at the moment...
For 2.8
He can come back

Then I would gladly give him his 10M and enjoy a prime Marian Hossa. If he brought it every game, He would be the games best powerforward and caphit would be 8-10M
I don't care if he's invisible for 20 straight games, this guy steps up when it counts.
How can you expect Armia to be one of the leading scorers, if he hardly gets any power play time and plays significant time shorthanded.
Still with +10 he has best plus minus rating of all forwards. But he has potential to be 50+ points forward if you give him power play time and 17+ minutes playing time in top two lines.
Precisely how I feel. Out of the current Habs roster, he has by far the biggest variance in play. Some nights he's Marian Hossa and on others he's hmmm well Joel Armia. It's ok to be a bit frustrated on the fact that Joel shows he COULD be that player, but can't reach it. Would he be here if he was? Who knows, but maybe not.
He's been dynamite but we can't get screwed into overpaying for role players. He's been a HUGE one no doubt. I'm sure only a small batch of teams would pay him something like 4.
Agreed, he's good but overpaying players of his ilk is how you get in trouble salary cap wise. We don't want another Byron situation where the player is good but his salary means you are putting them on waivers.
What's your definition of getting paid? Not sure a team will go over 4m with flat caps. He's definitely getting paid this offseason after these playoffs. Wish they extended him while they had a chance. As much hype as Anderson got, Armia provided similar offense/good on boards/way better defensively/less physical but still hits
