Hector Santiago, the first pitcher to get busted under the new hyper-vigilant stickty stuff watch just got a 10-game suspension for it. And he's a reliever so this isn't a "10 games but it's really 2 starts" scenario.

I understand and support the intent of not letting pitchers go nuts with all kinds of crazy gluey crap to doctor the ball, but MLB could not be bungling this situation any harder if they were actually trying.

Shane Baez was the PTNL in the Rays trade of Archer. Not only did they get 2 all stars in Meadows and Glasnow, they got Archer back and Baez is developing into a Pearson type prospect;

Baez is 22 in AAA. He has a 13 K per 9 and a 1.93 BB per 9 in 14 innings with a 1.29 ERA.
He was in AA to start the season with a 13.5 K/9 and a 0.55 BB/9 with a 2.48 ERA in 33 innings.

As if Rays needed another huge piece, especially coming from that trade. And he isn’t even a top 5 prospect for them.

So bad. The Jays screwed up by trying to hang on to their contention years too long, but at least they didn't actively destroy the future of the team in the process.

Or is it?

I thought Cimber had control too but similar too but there is a legit source here stating that Cimber is a rental.

Expiring contract =/= rental. The Marlins are cheap and Cimber is making less than a million in the final year of his contract and having a great year, he's looking at probably doubling his salary in arbitration

It would be nice to see the Rays lose a trade for once. They just always seem to hit

When Panik is on the table you don't wait around. A Rance Mulliniks clone..Donnie Baseball knows what he's getting.

Thanks Marlins, it was about time for our annual trade. They’re like our N.L buddy always down for a quick deal. Timing of this couldn’t be better. A+ deal for Jays. Cimber will need to actually pitch well though but cost is low.

I'm excited about Cimber, he's having a good year, being a sidearm/submarine guy he gives us a completely new look out of the bullpen, his career GB% is high and he's only allowed 1 inherited runner to score since the first week of the season.

He's a submariner? Awesome. Those guys are fun to watch. Not necessarily because it's good or anything, but because it's just such a funky delivery it's fun to see in action.

I’ve always liked Dickerson. Just another strong bat added to an already deep line up. This also creates more depth to move Gurriel for a SP.

It'll be interesting to see how he hits in the 7-8 hole, in Miami he mostly hit 1, 3, 4, 5. Not sure about moving Lourdes though

Lourdes seems to be a club house favourite it would likely tick off some of the guys in the room to trade either Lourdes or Biggio who seem to always be brought up in trades. The value coming back would need to compensate for that as well and he's still a useful piece. Outfield and infield depth is going to get pretty crowded soon though.

It goes completely against everything we've been doing, but I'm starting to come around to the possibility of offering Pearson in a deal for a guy like Jose Ramirez

The minor league pitcher we sent over in the trade is Andrew McInvale. Anyone with a scouting report?

I was excited to get Dickerson until i saw hes been trending down for 3/4 years lol. I think thats when the Jays were interested. Expecting very little from him.
