But are you worried he isn’t committed to baseball and plays football and you are left without a draftee in the first 2 rounds in the 2021 draft.

Well that would be operating under the assumption that the team would have a deal in place with him prior to the selection, or at least know where he stood. I wouldn't blindly jump in and draft him, but of course neither would any MLB team. I don't think anyone knows yet what his demands are or whether he prefers playing football, but he's still getting mocked in the 1st round so it seems he's signable.

Regarding the bullpen, if Murphy can be a decent option, Hatch can come back soon and Chatwood regains his early form that would be a huge plus. I would also be using Kay in the pen. I don't think he will ever be a starter.

I wonder if Hatch gets called up tomorrow to be the opener for Zeuch?

I thought they were stretching Hatch out?

I mean, I agree they don't need to stretch him out, but they are, ha. He threw 51 pitches last time out, albeit in only 2 innings. He was taken out after 51 pitches as that was his pitch count, but the plan sounds like even more pitches next outing. I think they see him as still plenty young enough to become a reliable starter.

I would think if the pen was the plan for him he would have been up already before Salcedo? I think Murphy was a pen plan from the get go, too bad he got hurt, but he looked good tonight.

Sounds like Merryweather will be back near the end of the month.

That incorrect foul ball call and Vladdy safe at 3rd was why they lost last night. They've lost too many close games mostly because of the bullpen, last night the umpires helped too.

When Vladdy slammed his hand in disgust on the dirt after that play, was it because he screwed up and realized he cost the team an out, or was it just sheer frustration that he put himself in that position? Because it certainly seemed like his reaction and him walking off the bag without signalling to have it checked that he believed he was out.

In June, he’s has awRC of 283 a 19% k rate and 12 walk rate. He’s increasing his power while walking more and striking out less. At the star his walk rate was around 3 and k rate high 30’s

Small sample size but he’s emerging as a top. Prospect in the system. 22 and 11 months in AA

The replay showed otherwise, but the really bad call was the foul ball call that was a clear whiff at a wild pitch. A pee wee umpire could've seen that.

Forgot about our friend Mason;

Mason McRae’s 2021 MLB Mock Draft 7.0
0*5LQVa0QqBCfPIAF5

19th Overall — Toronto Blue Jays
Joe Mack, C, Williamsville East (HS)

Both him and Harry Ford could go earlier and the Jays like them both. Ford is a much better athlete, Mack is the better catcher, but both are very close talent-wise with the bat.

Again, the problem is that Gurriel reacted like he had fouled the ball.

If he did miss it, you would expect he'd be waiving like mad for Hernandez to come home. That reaction is why the call didn't go the Jays' way.

That doesn’t change the fact that it was wrong and cost them the game.

A bigger thing was not coming with a hit when we had runners on 2nd and third with no one out. We can't say it's all the umpire's fault.
If we come through, the umpire thing doesn't even happen.
