Moreno now thrown out the last 4 steal attempts and Groshans wins the game with a bases loaded and bases cleaning double in the 9th inning.

If they all get rolling, New Hampshire has a great top of the order with Martin, Groshans, Lopez and Moreno.
And Chavez Young has been below the radar good with a .800+ops.
Very quietly.

Well, if we are really out of it, I'm only trading Semien to a contender if they're giving up a top 100 prospect or better. If I'm not mistaken, we can give him a qualifying offer in the off-season. Then we get a decent draft pick if he leaves and we can go after one of the free agent shortstops or we can sign him longer term instead.

So far this season hes been better than all those big name SS too.

Guerrero’s first 61 games compared to Pulojs first 61 games during his 9.5 fWAR season in 2003.
Vlad's going to come out of his unconscious flow state at some point (hopefully after the year) and think to him self holy efff what numbers did I actually just put up...

I don't think he's even thinking about the historically great numbers he's putting up right now. These are prime Albert/Miguel type numbers right now.

Surely signing him up long term would still be best
The preference would be to sign him long term and the fact that we could and would qualify him makes it so that the return needs to pretty great. We’d end up getting a 2nd I believe if he signed elsewhere. He’s been a great fit and hitting in a hitter friendly division hasn’t hurt him that’s for sure. As long as the dollars aren’t insane he may just prefer to stay.

The problem we have with most of these free agents is we aren’t playing at f***in home. He has no idea what it’s like playing in Toronto.

If he keeps this up, according to wRC+ it would be the best hitting season since Barry Bonds 2004.

True enough but he has a sense of the division and team now though. I’m sure they can tour him around it in the off season and he’s played there before so he knows what the border situation is like

He has the same idea about playing in Toornto as any free agent who is coming from another team -- plus he is intimately familiar with the players and management now.

Matz on COVID injured list.
Someone is going to have to explain like I am 3 years old what the hell the vaccines are for? It's long been apparent that vaccines do nothing for Covid.

Ridiculous.

1) it's an inconclusive test, not a positive test
2) we don't know if he's been vaccinated

Might wanna back this up with some peer reviewed data. Would be pretty astounding if a zero percent efficacy was first discovered on hfboards in the Jays chat. Quick, everyone take a group photo for the Nobel prize!

George Springer doing his best Corey Koskie impression. I hope our biggest signing since Clemens doesn't become an injury problem. He's only once played more than 145 regular season games in his 7 year career.

Vladdy is on pace for 54 HRs and a 10 fWAR season. Both would be Jays records beating Bautista and Donaldson.

Imagine him doing this at the Rogers Centre in the middle of a playoff and MVP race. Would be 2015 Donaldson-esqe

After today’s game the Jays will be 5th in position player WAR and 2nd in team wRC+ without Springer and our 4th string catcher.

Give me Max Scherzer and a pen arm like Daniel Hudson at the deadline and let’s go for it.

If Moreno is the real deal then Kirk might be the prospect to dangle to land pitching.

I love Kirk, but I agree, especially since Jensen is playing like a gold glover and Reese is playing like he did prior to 2020. Adams is supposed to have a ton of pop in his bat, so he can always be converted to an extra OF/1B and DH down the line if need be

To trade 6 years of Kirk when his value is at a low for a few months of Schrezer is risky but regardless, Kirk may be the guy to trade if you get a difference making pitcher or a player with control.

One plus is the Jays holes are fairly easy to fix at the deadline. There are always pen arms available and they only need one SP.

Oh, and they have a crap ton of prospects to trade.
