Random question :

if there’s a double steal and one of the runners gets thrown out does the other runner still get the SB or does it get treated like a FC?

I had to look it up.

According to 9.07(d) if one runner gets caught on a double or triple steal, nobody else is credited with a steal. I have no idea what the other runners are credited with, though in light of other scoring rules regarding steals that aren't credited as steals, a FC is a pretty fair guess (the only rule that seems to explicitly suggest what to give a player who does not, in the scorer's judgement, merit the awarding of a steal is the one on defensive indifference suggesting that in such cases the advancement is ruled a fielder's choice.)

Checked the score in the Canada/USA game and all I see is "Canada manager filing out protest paperwork". Sounds interesting. Lets hope it works because they game up 5 runs this inning

Ball got stuck on the top of the wall

Kevin Smith has been doing fairly well recently. Walking a fair amount and striking out less compared to his last two years. Power is still there.

Moreno hit his fourth homer of the year.

Smith's bounceback has been a nice development after how horribly 2019 went for him. If he can turn into something - even just a utility guy or a trade piece - it would be awesome.

A lot of the Jays top prospects have been doing very well. Groshans and Pearson are probably the biggest disappointments but with Groshans, he missed most of 2019 and missed a few days with an injury. If he gets on a hot streak his numbers will look much better. He's only 21 as well.

Murphy is pitching with the Bisons again. It would not surprise me to see him get called up in the Boston series. Also, Hatch has not thrown yet since his first rehab outing, May 20th.

Remember that one person here who kept complaining about Gurriel not having an arm? Good times.

Was coming here to post something about Taylor then saw this tweet.

His K rate needs to be improved.

I was just looking at his stats after I saw he hit his 5th. Seems like maybe he's selling out for power a bit? That K-rate is way too high, but maybe he'll find a better balance as the year goes on. He's a pretty interesting guy, but even moreso knowing he has this kind of power in him.

Riley Adams heating up in June (.444/.583/.1556) up to .246/.397/.614 on the year with 6 homeruns.
it's pretty upsetting that they sent him down without giving him a game. I know the staff has familiarity with McGuire and Jansen but both Adams and Moreno have an OPS above 1.000. I'd really like to see them give Adams a cup of coffee before Kirk returns.

Another random question. We know that if a guy gets hit by pitch and swings at said pitch it's a strike and not a HBP. What about if they still hit the pitch though? Say it's low and inside and grazes their shin but they still hit it for what would have normally been a single. I would think that the ball hitting them makes it a dead ball so the hit doesn't count, but it's not really fair to give them a strike either because they hit the ball, and you can't give them a HBP either because they swung. Neither option feels like the correct call.

I know it's unlikely and feels full Vladdy Guerrero Sr like when he hit a single off a ball that bounced before he hit it, but it's still possible.

Hatch pitching for Buffalo right now after his minor setback. Biggio also playing which I didn't know was happening. Hit a HR in his first at bat.

Jansen left todays game with an injury. Wonder if we get to see Adams soon.

Maese with 5 K's, 2 BB 1 hit and 0 runs in 2 IP

Vancouver played their last 24 games all in the same stadium. 6 of those were road games, the other 18 were "home" games in the same stadium.

Our boy Roark striking out 10 per 9 with Atlanta’s Triple A team but still has a 6 ERA.
