I thought the Rangers overpaid on Kevin Hayes second contract but when you think about it Hayes getting that after a bit of a letdown year probably played well to the Vesey camp--it said the Rangers are willing to give their young guys very good second deals.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Rangers dealt some excess forwards for a d-man and if there's one guy right now that interests me more than any other is Jacob Trouba.

Extra forwards being dealt is a likely consideration but extra forwards doesn't really have much to do with landing Trouba

There is no way he should. Even if there were injuries, Grabner/Lindberg/Gerbe/Jensen are all better forwards than him.

Fast, if he stays, will be a much better player this year playing in the correct role

Saying that it's 60/40 is guessing. I think you might be objecting to Kredielstl because he's been arguing a lot of things in weird ways but without a source close to the Vesey camp or the Rangers, it's just hunches. Vesey couldn't meet with teams until 8/15. Vesey met with 6 teams or so in 2 days and took until Friday to decide. It was an ongoing situation and decision.

I'm not objecting to RB but rather Dagoon btw.
