Never even entertained the idea he'd sign here. I guess I fell for HFB's "The Rangers are done"-narrative. Our forward group looks very good for years to come and we still have an elite goalie.. Maybe the dark days are still a few years away

With all the circus surrounding Vesey and his impending free agency this summer, it can be easy to forget what all the controversy was about, and why Nashville wanted so desperately to sign him in the first place. Vesey is the rare college player that could step immediately onto the roster of an NHL playoff team and not miss a beat.

Vesey combines a big frame with quick feet and good weight shift making him very difficult to knock off the puck or slow down on the rush. He's got great goal-scoring touch around the net and has the hands to set up a teammate with a nice.

Whichever team lands Vesey this summer will be picking up a player that should be able to step in right away and play a third line role, with him potentially developing into a top-six forward once he fully adjusts to the pro game.

Zucc deal for Shattenkirk (no Intel just hopeful)

What in the hell?? Why would you be hopeful for such a thing? It's beyond an absurd proposition. And even beyond the obvious tragic logical flaws in it, Zucc is also our heart! Other than hank and Mac, he's the only other person that would really upset me if he left, on a personal level. He's like our mascot lol.

And awesome news with Vessey! Not surprised at all, cause I could just tell from the way his agent had been talking that it was likely he'd end up here. But glad the mystery is finally over!

This kid's totally got potential, and though of course our expectations should be realistic, I have a feeling he will be a much more solid acquisition going forward than Hayes had been (who was a downright trainwreck last season). Hell, maybe he can even help Hayesey play better.

But definitely will be a different feel going into this season. Will be interesting to see which forward will be going... Anyone but Step (smiley) or Zucc is fine by me!

Sounds like what you'd hope to get in a late 1st round pick...so, having Hayes, Vesey and Buch in the fold, I would consider those to be the equivalent of 3 1st round picks. Just sayin'.
