At this point, besides hurting the team with his terrible play and Claude killing the power play by putting him on it, a player with any self respect and self awareness must know how awful he is and how much he is hurting the team, if he had any confidence it has to be shot.

Slow, untalented, soft and lazy are not attributes that will make for a long career, he needs to go and if Julien can't see it then Sweeney needs to step in and take him away from Claude so Julien can no longer hurt the team by putting this waste of space on the ice.

Marchand, who had a somewhat questionable game last night himself, was caught on camera shaking his head at either Hayes for going offside or the ref who called it off during the power play. Then there was a play shortly after where Hayes couldnt keep it in the zone and it looked as if Marchand was just glaring at Hayes as he skated back to their D zone.

Point being, it got me thinking. I know how many of us fans feel... I wonder how the players feel in the locker room seeing a guy not carrying his weight and yet still be placed in the lineup. Im sure there probably isnt a lot of negativity and his teammates want to see him succeed... But it has to bug the other players who are trying to up their own game and get stuck on a line with this guy. As well as the kids sitting in the press box or down in Providence working their tails off.

I just can't see how Hayes can be in the lineup tonight or in any games in the near future, the last 2 games he has looked so outclassed that it's not even funny.

Montreal is the perfect example of why he is useless, a nasty game by today's standards, lots of hitting, some questionable, trash talk, a game that looked like a rivalry game and Lil' Jimmy was invisible while 5'7 Tory Krug was laying out hits and becoming the new Chara/Milbury/Lucic to Montreal fans.

Kid from Massachusetts who should understand the rivalry, even if he doesn't should be engaged in a game like Monday night. Instead he skated around with his head down, avoiding trouble at all costs and being useless. Disgraceful performance by a soft, weak player.

By the way the Bruins have Anaheim tonight, a team that pushed them around at will last season, they need Lil' Jimmy to step up and make some attempt at physical play tonight. With K.Miller apparently injured Hayes making some attempt to play a physical game and stick up for his team is needed. I don't expect it sadly.

Blidh recalled today. Hoping this is the end of the road for Jimmy.

The message has been sent to every playing in the organisation at this point. Once you get a 1 way contract, your performance no longer matters.

Haha I saw that too. I remember a couple similar incidents last year with Connolly as well(who I didn't mind that much).

I truly don't think Hayes is dogging it out there. And I think he has some skill. He's just completely lost at the moment. Zero confidence and very little hockey sense in his game. Flubs every chance, can't make a pass, and can't keep possession. Brutal.

Speaking of Connolly - he scored a goal in his first game back after being a healthy scratch for a week

Genuinely think it would benefit Hayes to get waived and sent to Providence for the remainder of the season to figure out his game and hopefully get some confidence back. This entire thing has taken over his game to the point where he is just toally useless out there in every aspect.

I mean 1 POINT in his last 43 NHL games...that is just so mind boggling horrendous and inept.

Yep, agree with u. People need to understand Hayes could end up literally costing Boston a PO spot.
You cant roll with a guy in your top 9 producing 1 goal in 30 games and not suffer from it.
