The Flyers had a player on the board that many had in their top 5 talents in the draft. That was Zeev Buium. So I am not following anything about this guy but I do see mocking posts about him. So basically what I understand is that we picked a mediocre prospect and that we overlooked better picks? Please tell me this is true so that I continue to have no faith in this year's draft when they pick in the middle again like brainless monkeys...
How many points does Buium have in the NHL?The Flyers had a player on the board that many had in their top 5 talents in the draft. That was Zeev Buium.
The Flyers traded down instead of selecting him and then drafted a player who only had speed as a plus skill in his pre-draft assessment.
Luchanko is a defensively responsible player who also finds himself in the right areas in the offensive zone, but does not impress much with the puck on his stick. A middle six upside is probably his most likely positive outcome.
Buium is a special player and will also be compared to Luchanko by Flyers fans who were upset at trading down there.
Nothing new. Holmgren had a spare first rounder and a desire for Steve Emminger so he passed on John CarlsonI forgot about the Buium situation and how the Flyers approached the draft like the smartest people in the room....
Okay? How many points does Buium have in the NHL?
I wasn't that impressed with him in the WJC games I saw, I didn't see anything that screamed special player.
He may turn out to be very good, he may turn out to be a little slow for the pro game.
It is short-sighted brainless moves like those that set franchises back decades.Nothing new. Holmgren had a spare first rounder and a desire for Steve Emminger so he passed on John Carlson
Luchanko was limited to a 4th line role and PK killing and protecting leads at the end of the game.Okay?
Luchanko was wholly unimpressive at the WJC, significantly less noticeable than Buium, but I couldn't care less about a short form tournament.
Maybe we should just wait 3 years.
Luchanko was limited to a 4th line role and PK killing and protecting leads at the end of the game.
Kept hoping Guelph would trade him to a team with talented wings so he can work on his offensive game.
No such luck.
I wasn't that impressed with him in the WJC games
Correction..you mean no such "Luchanko"Luchanko was limited to a 4th line role and PK killing and protecting leads at the end of the game.
Kept hoping Guelph would trade him to a team with talented wings so he can work on his offensive game.
No such luck.

Wanna know who my favorite Bond was? Pierce BROsnan. My brotato chip, this take is going to age like a bucket of meat juice left out in Florida
You said that like Luchanko had points in the NHL. He played 4 games and scored no points. How many points does Buium have in the NHL?

They don't f*cking get it. When drafting from NA you should only focus in high scoring players. Nothing against Luchanko as a person but those role players are easily found in the later rounds as well and especially from Europe. Finland produce great fourth line centers etc. Pick those in the last round if you wish. Don't waste the first f*cking pick on a mid6 center or wing.
Imagine there are only two mentionable interesting players in main roster. Michkov and Konecny. Then we have Tuomaala in the AHL who could be a interesting piece but most likely for the top9 and PP2.
I would honestly trade Konecny for high first round picks if possible. Doesn't matter if it gets the team weaker in this upcoming year or the after. We need Hagens more than say Konecny. This team will never be competitive during Konecnys time either if they don't start to tank.
Trade these: Ristolainen, Konecny, Andrae and lots of others.
Get: Niemelä and Hirvonen instead of Andrae (I don't believe Andrade is nothing more than mediocre at the end, I've always seen a higher ceiling in Niemelä even if he's weak). Otherwise just get a high pick in upcoming draft and please BRING SOME NEW EUROPEAN SCOUTS TO THIS SH*T OF A FRANCHISE.
Konecny should give something very good. Otherwise, of course don't trade him.
I rather see Vaakanainen than Ristolainen as a bottom pairing for Team Finland so yeah, that says it all. Just trade him for some picks. He's not much more than physique and he lost this offensive touch through the years and he was never that smart in his own zone nor at defending.
In this upcoming draft: Pick some highly touted Americans. Those good creative skaters like Hagens and so on. Or just like they Hutson and Hughes brothers were.
Later on focus on smart European talent as well if possible. There will be prospects like: Mrtka, Osmanis, Benak, Chovan, Katolicky, Pobezal, Rimpinen, Westergård, Joki, Hynninen, Vanhanen, Rautiainen, Filimonov,
For the 2026 focus on: Ivar Stenberg, Chrenka, Novotny, Murnieks, Aaram-Olsen, Tomik, Cihar, Berzkalns, Kähkönen, Nemec, Griva brothers. Vanhatalo, Suvanto, Arkko, Torrki, Laatikainen, Alalauri ,Hemming, Zharovsky, Ivanov, Borin, Gerasimov.
Lots of very good Czechs, Latvians and Finns and a couple of Slovaks in this draft as well. The majority could also ending up as second rounders- and later.
Overall the 2026 should have a lot more European talent than the 2025. So I would suggesting on having plenty of picks.
2027: Santala.
2028: Karjalahti.
I mean come on, someone in this organization. Do your f*cking job.
The Flyers and their talking heads saying that they would not get the same value from picks received by trading Konecny, Ristolainen, etc, are really saying that they a) probably won't maximize trade value with their Super Friends approach and b) are poor at drafting future top-line/pairing players. They don't f*cking get it. I wouldn't be mad to see Murtagh from the US as a second round pick if possible. Watched his clips. Poor mans Leonard, does not have his skating.

Had they traded TK last summer, they'd probably get less than for Meier, late 1st, late 2nd, "B" prospect. The Flyers and their talking heads saying that they would not get the same value from picks received by trading Konecny, Ristolainen, etc, are really saying that they a) probably won't maximize trade value with their Super Friends approach and b) are poor at drafting future top-line/pairing players.
